Eurovision Song contest 2024 in Sweden: My favourites

Hello my dear Steemians,

Another year has passed and we have had once again Eurovision Song contest that took place this time in Malmö , Sweden. We often try not to watch any videos before the Final show but this time it was not possible to stay away from all the news around the song contests. For us, it is Song Contest when many artists and performers from different countries come together and share the best from their country, present their skills in singing but also to create a show that could infect people and some song could maybe become an ear worm. This time there were few of those songs and I wanted to highlight some of them here.

The winner this time was NEMO the performer from Switzerland with the song "The Code", the Artist is the first nonbinary artist who the song is about the way of finding who you are and expressing the thoughts, worries throughout the life. The song written in combination of opera style, both pop and rap beautiful and rich voice and the control of the voice that many viewers in many countries liked and brought the Artist the first place.

Those of you who watched Eurovision will immediately say that Joost was disqualified, yes, you are right he did not take a part but his Song became a Hit even before the Grand Final and it conquered the hearts of many.

It is really a shame that tis Artist and this Song was not allowed to take part in contest. We actually do not know what exactly happened and also, as many fans from the Netherlands who arrived to see their country fellow and the song were very upset, one of them rightly said: Why the Artist was not allowed currently there is still some investigations going on and the song rightly passed pre-selection to Final.

Back to song, I tell you what I like:

• Joost has written text and music himself and it has very much personal life and emotions in it

• he lost his father because of cancer when Joost was 12 y.o.

• his mother died from cardiac arrest when he was 14 y.o.

• the song was a tribute to his father

• song about Europe, without borders, where you can travel without passport and learn many people, actually very much a representation of Eurovision view

• when he finished singing at the end there are handwritten words in memory to his parents and this is very touching

This song has everything: beat, fun, great music and performance.

That is another performance that I really love, it is great show, costumes, make up, felt myself like travelled in time during some mystical ritual. Song is very good performed. Love it.

Slimane from France, amazing beautiful and clear voice, the song that chosen beautifully showing the whole range of his voice, again in my opinion deserves to be much higher in chart.

The German singer Isaak also one of the singer with beautiful strong voice and had such amazing song, really love it and was glad that this time German performer received more voices from viewers. Definitely deserved, even to be more higher on chart but this time it was quite hard because there were many very good performers so it was difficult choice.

I really enjoyed it and hope you also will find one or another artist who you will visit and listen.
