Everyone wants to be that favourite guy/lady on stage with impact, that celebrity boyfriend people die for, that influencer on social media with millions of followers and a verified page, that award winner that people look up to, and an influencer people spend their whole lives watching someone's life.

There's a saying Influence is Money and with influence, you can get power. But is it really that necessary? Can one be an influencer without being popular, on the net, news and everywhere? The answer is yes and no at the same time. Reasons would be deliberated in my answers to the following questions.

Do you consider being an influencer a profession? Would you recommend it to your children?

The answer to this question on a personal basis is that I won't take this into consideration because of what I've actually seen these influencers pass through in their celebrity life. Before I continue much further, I'll love to deliberate on what being an influencer means as many don't really know. They just know the surface.

In simple terms, an influencer is someone who influences people. In most cases, they lead popular lifestyles as you can't be an influencer without being known. A influencer influences positively and negatively and it can vary in different sectors be it a social media influencer, a business influencer, a cult influencer, a celebrity influencer.

Every influencer must always have an audience, a follower or business partners. These followers of yours don't just follow you because they feel like. They want to gain something from you which can be entertaining, informative, financial, or something educative. You'll always keep up with trends as an influencer and feed your followers with what they want.

You should always be ready to give in order to take which may sometimes deprive you of your personal time or life as you want to always please the masses.

These are some reasons why I'll not take being an influencer as a profession although there's massive money and giving out sometimes make you feel responsible, selfless and in charge which may be good.

  • Being an influencer not bad at all. It's even a good and fast way of making money and it can expose you to lifestyles but I'll choose not to because it's time consuming and you must always be there to meet demands
  • Yes, there's absolutely nothing that's not time consuming no doubt but when popularity comes in, you'll want to maintain it and it would deprive you of time for even family. You'll be focused on giving out.
  • I also don't like or would recommend it to my children because popular influencers most times get their lives threatened. This is based on popularity levels as your kind of influencer can take you out of space. If it's based on just being a normal influencer, probably when it comes to sewing like I'm doing not really taking it to heights, I'll love doing it.

I'm an influencer no doubt but not that popular/celebrity type of influencer as I don't want that lifestyle.

Is there an influencer with whom you feel identified? Why and what kind of content do you share?

There's this fashion influencer by name Ebuka, a popular moderator or host in the popular show, big brother naija. His fashion sense is way too expensive and lit. His every outfit speak details and gives me a good sense of looking
better and reputable in public. Asides his being popular, I love his trends in male wears. He being out different designs which I add to my collections when sewing new wears.

He has actually influenced me with his choices of clothes, styles and colour combination.

Do you think the life of an influencer is a role model, why?

Not necessarily but are quite similar as they involve people and audience. The life of a role model may not be that flashy and popular than someone who is an influencer be it in a form or business. A role model is someone people look forward to imitating or being like.

A less popular person even a commoner can be someone's role model which doesn't make that person an influencer. So their lives are actually different as a role model takes different forms.

It can be in the family setting or business. As a role model , you won't necessarily be exposed the way influencers are exposed on the space. You'll not need to forcefully meet demands compared to that of being an influencer where everyone would want to see your new posts, videos etc.

Do you have to have some kind of training to be an influencer, or can anyone be one?

The answer is yes. You can't be an influencer without undergoing some form of training which can vary. Anyone can't be one as you may not know what it takes. Even if you know, it's how well you play the cards which will need some measure of training.

To be an influencer is dependent on what you bring up and how you doing this. You may have the best of ideas but may not know how to stir up emotions. Reasons why many on social medias aren't influencers. Mostly is due to the money one has that makes him or her an influencer.

Before being an influencer, you must learn how to be a social person, a public speaker and someone with dignity. You can't influence other people when you can't relate with them. It's not possible even in business. You'll also need some strategies on how to reach heights and this can only be gotten through shared information which is part of the training process. Training is very paramount as what is worth doing is worth doing well.

In conclusion, being an influencer is a lifestyle and you're the only one that can make that choice. In as much as you may see other influencers, aspiring to be like them should tally what you do at the moment and your strength in the future.

Hola amigo

Yeah, you're very right and if you got the role of a role model, here on steemit, you're actually one as I've learnt from you secretly especially how you create contents worthy of emulation. Thanks for commenting. I'm looking forward to reading your contents as well.

Woah. This is the master piece !!
In my country, Influencers are usually considered who are living social life yet Influencing people. Majority of the population are Gamers. They have around 40 M subscribers and some have 15 M subscribers by just playing game and posting it on youtube.
But personally I feel that their life is worst. Living in one room infront or screen.

You know the game and I really appreciate the fact that influencers are on the spotlight. They glow always and are always creating impact wherever they go or find themselves. People spend their whole life watching their lives.

Nicely written, I agree that before anyone thinks of being an influencer he or she must have adequate communication skills and must be a social person. Thanks for your post

Thanks for this emphasis. If you're not a social person and you're not fluent in communicating with the public, it won't be that possible to be an influencer as people will always want you to say one or two things to them. Thanks for sharing. I'm impressed by your comment.

Estimado amigo. Me gustó leerte.

I love the point you brought on being television stars. They are always seen on the screen and people spend time watching them. It's good to know you loved reading my contents. I love your posting style and I'm learning from you which makes you an influencer to me. Thanks for commenting.
