SEC-S17W3: large and small families, likes and dislikes

I do not think it is something that we think about if to have a big or small families. First, we all have our own experience as children and that usually forms our inner impression at subconscious level. If we are born in large families we know how it is and feel ourselves what was good for us as children but also we know what our parents felt. The same way if we are born in a small family and were only child we also know how it is and at the end decide if that is something we want to have for us too.
Let's see what are benefits and weaknesses
Being borne in big families we know that for a couple initially there is a hard time when children are young, they need a lot of attention, care, patience and love. Of course, in many families one of both parents are working that means they need to combine their work and family life, that is really stressful and only with support of each other but also grandparents everything can have a happy large families.
Once the children a bit grown up, there are positive sides of big families:
- children always have their siblings to play but also to help each other
- they also start helping their parents
- later on even as adults we have our close family members to be on our side
The weak side is understandably financial side, because it is a lot of expenses for food, clothes, education. In some countries the government have their support like:
- free food in nursery or school
- school buses
- afternoon classes for those whose parents are working
- also "child's benefit" that is additional money that government pays for each child till they reach 18 years
This is another version when family has one or max. two children. There are definitely benefits for both parents and children:
- one child and two parents, so parents can share the time for looking after a child especially in early ages
- one parent can work half a day and spend more time with child instead of giving a child to nursery
- a child will enjoy being with parents and have attention
- financially for parents easier so they can effort a lot for their child/children
Of course, it is also important to get connection with other parents and make sure that a child/children have time with other children so that they learn socialising and play together, make first friends.
*In general, it is up to every individual to have small or big family, parent have to decide for themselves what is hte best for them and their children.

Thank you so much for mentioning me in your post and sharing your knowledge with us. Yes I agree with all of your points about having a small or large family. It is true in large family we have to bear the expanses of our children such as school fees, busses rent, feeding them and providing them with all of their needs. But in a small family our expenses reduced automatically. Anyways we should also remember that the children are the blessings of Almighty Allah which make families.

Yes, you are right, for parents it is a fortune if the children will grow into good adults :)
Probably due to the background I grew up with, actually I will say I don't prefer big families because of the so much troubles in it. I will still choose the small circle in the family
Hello 👋, reading your post for cool, you really said things that are straight to the point. Wow you grew up in an extended family and am sure you must have learnt alot from that experience.
Expenses and time are the two things disturbing the breadwinner of an extended family. Nuclear family is more better. Good luck.
You have well explained the point , you said in a small family where the parents have only two kids, each parent will take care of each time and the will be a free flow of love and care between the family.
If one parent is at work then the other will be taking care of the child instead of sending the child to the nursery to be under another person's care.
I like that your point.
