Good afternoon Steemians friends... In this opportunity I come to share with you the recipe of an exquisite "vanilla sponge cake", I love to add a touch of lemon zest, as this ingredient provides a delicious contrast to our dessert.

The homemade sponge cake is one of the most versatile desserts, can be filled and decorated with countless ingredients, but this time I will share a recipe super easy to prepare and with few ingredients, for those days when our occupations win the battle against the clock.

Next, we will put on the apron to cook with emotion and be in perfect synchrony with our preparation.

To enjoy this delicious "vanilla sponge cake"...

You will need the following ingredients:

2 eggs
1 cup milk (240 milliliters)
2 cups all-purpose flour (280 gr)
1 cup sugar (200 gr)
1/2 cup oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking powder
lemon zest
powdered cinnamon

PREPARATION:

The first step will be: beat the 2 eggs with an electric mixer, when they have acquired the "foamy" texture, add the cup of sugar and mix well, until we check that they are integrated and that there are no lumps.

Next we add 1/2 cup of oil...

In this step, lower the speed of the whisk to "medium" and add the cup of milk.

It is the turn to add the flour "all use" (previously sifted) and continue beating until all the ingredients are integrated.

Add the teaspoon of baking powder together with the powdered cinnamon...

Add the vanilla extract along with the lemon zest.

For cooking: take it to the oven for 45 minutes at 180 degrees.
If your oven is busy with another preparation, there is a fabulous alternative: we place our delicious mixture in a non-stick container (the latter was the option I chose), cover it with the lid and aluminum foil and cook it for 1 hour at a "medium-low" temperature.

We check with a knife that our cake is ready.

On this occasion I generously decorated it with Nevucar or snowy sugar.
