How Books change your life!

Reading as an addiction:

In the recent months, I have turned into an avid reader and reading books has become an addiction. It's like every moment I have to keep reading something.

If I finish one book, I don't even take a break and start with another soon. Reading has become like breathing lately and I don't think this is a bad addiction at all.

Wanna know why?

Because reading gives you access to information that you would've never known through experience in this lifetime. It helps you learn from the mistakes committed by others in the past and you will avoid committing such a mistake.

This will end up saving a lot of your time that you would have spent committing the mistake and then learning from it. I am a firm believer in the saying "Prevention is better than cure" and books are like the medicines that will help you prevent any stupid mistakes in life.

Yes, I do agree that mistakes have a big part in learning curve but it's not necessary to always commit it and then learn from it. Instead you can always know what kind of mistake you could make and then avoid it from happening.

If you ever come across a person who reads a lot of books, their beliefs kinda become rock solid. In the sense you won't be able to manipulate them by using false information or through some other means. This again plays a huge role in not getting fooled in life and saving your time and resources that you would've lost otherwise.

It can also help you become wise in life and your knowledge will enable you to help people who are going through problems that you've read about in books before and you know how to solve it because of reading about it.

So, these are some of the advantages I could think of right now. If you know any other advantage, please feel free to add them in the comments below. I will upvote them!

Here are some of the books that I suggest:

1. The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

2. Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill

3. The Power of your Subconscious Mind by Dr. Joseph Murphy

These books have had a profound effect on my thinking and way of life. They are life changing and will make you want to get more out of life and not settle for less. They will also inspire to chase your dreams.

Hope you enjoyed my post. If you did so, please make sure to leave and upvote and comment! It will help me a lot.

Thanks and Cheers!

Sort:

It's "The Alchemist."
The other two books are meant to make you think over things but the gems are not from these categories. I'd suggest giving Gabriel Garcia,Murakami or Rushdie a try(Pick some of their more popular books)
You then have the fantasy genre to check out : Robert Jordan for The Wheels of Time or Patrick Rothfuss for The Kingslayer Chronicles(Just picked the Name of the Wind.)
Horror has got Stephen King, Clive Barker & Richard Matheson.

Oops yeah! Should've proof checked.
I'll check those books out. Thanks for the great suggestions @mydivathings! :)

Sure thing! Let me know how it goes and whether you enjoyed them :)
