A PEN IS MIGHTIER THAN A GUN.

If you have ever come across a novel authored by an African who started a life in between the pre-colonial era, there are a number of phrases you must be familiar with. In no specific order or exact words, let's get to learn one or two and see how it helped/ is helping the Mama Africa get her freedom back.

• Get to learn their ways. One of my favorite line and you can find more on it's usage on 'The River Between' as authored by The great Ngugi Wa Thiong'o. This was used in instances where parents' hopes were carried in the backs of their children. They were supposed to go and get educated as per the missionaries teachings as it's well known that for a defeat you must learn all the moves of your enemy.
• The pen is mightier than a gun. In real sense you cannot compare a pen with a gun in any battlefield as the latter wins on the first blink. The parents believed that a war with the colonizers would yield, freedom and eventual get everything back. On them was a clear understanding that with their children feed on western education, it would have been much easier to win over the colonial powers. This gave them morale on the need to prepare their children and later they'd push harder for freedom in their elite status.

RESURFACE.

Any giant was a once small block and learnt to fight after getting every concept on crawling. We all starts from somewhere, no matter how many times we breaks down, we live to fight.

Once upon a time I used to be a reader. Things fell apart and the giant was reduced to a tiny boy who now is trying to re-make the first steps. Soon, he'll rise up and get to remind you all of the real greatness that was in him by then times when literature was everything.
