This piece is a fiction. This should not be considered as a plan... or should it?

Somewhere, in some country, February 8th 2021. On a cold gray Monday morning, a woman take the stairs toward the Lower house.

• Good morning, Mrs and Mr deputies. Today I want to present you this project of law around the blockchain. I assume most of you didn't read the report I send beforehand. We know this is a special day, since the attendance is pretty high and it not usual the case. You are here for the main event and I wish I was part of that main event.
• Can you come to the point, Ms...
• Ms Koda. We had, all around the world, an increasing number of law and regulations on communications. Governments destroyed net neutrality, gave more power to surveillance agencies, took away more and more control from the individuals for the enterprises.
• We live in dangerous time Madam. Now we are safer, our kids are safer. Don't you think so?
• Safe from who? Not from you?
• Do you have something to hide?
• What about you Mr President? Do you have something to hide? I am sure all the deputies around here are role models for our youth, examples to follow. I am sure you only serve this nation and have our interests at heart every single time you act as a deputy.
• I will not tolerate accusations like that here. We are all respectable actors of the democracy process, we got elected I have to remind you. We have the trust of the population.
• If that is the case then you won't refuse my proposition. I propose that all the politicians and public figures involved in, what you call a democracy, be paid in one and only one way: with PolitiCoin, a special cryptocurrency made with that sole purpose. It will be a transparent, immutable, secure, public currency that your electors can monitor. You will be able to set an example for everyone, in words and actions.
• This is outrageous!
• We are not going to accept this!
• We don't want to be mix with criminals and money launderers!

The quiet assembly grew loud in a millisecond. Allie Koda was smiling internally. This was exactly what she was expecting. Now the easiest part was about to start. Fortunately the harder part was already over months ago. They just had to wait for the takeover to e complete. Now was the time.

• We are not going to be paid with a volatile currency.
• The government can peg it 1:1 with our beloved national currency. It will be your money and no one else will be able to use. You will be forbidden to use any other currency. Its value is guarantee by our monetary system so you can have your peace of mind.
• We are entitled to some privacy!
• Are you now? I thought you had nothing to hide?
• The justice department is there to do the controls. There are agencies for that...
• But they cannot track your money use efficiently. Some have an expertise in anonymous companies and complex ownership setups. There are different type of blockchains, some have privacy, some have anonymity through pseudonyms, some have permissions. The technology has greatly improved. Today, You will be the next generation of blockchain use cases.
• Yeah right like there are use cases. Cryptocurrencies are just about speculation.
• You are right, there is a big part of speculation. But there is one thing you don't realize: you are already using blockchain-based solution. You are just not ware of it.
• Are you accusing us of money laundering in your fake money?
• No, not at all. I know you don't need my fake money to hide your dirty money. Every single one of you has been using it every day since the beginning of the year. I think it is about time you all look at the report I made. I will take your questions after that:

Fives prominent newspapers are moving to the blockchain. The top 5 internationals newspapers and one tv based channel are modifying they whole business model. They don't need any more advertisement or much less than before. The views, likes, and share gives them a cut in a daily emission of the cryptocurrency there based on. As such they are earning more money than before, are more independent. More newspapers will follow this month. Developing countries are not behind anymore on press liberty. They are taking advantage of the censorship resistant platform to share their news, their stories.

The Taxis are turning decentralized. No more third parties or middle men, a smart contract enables clients and drivers to agree on the price. This improved the quality of the service. Some Proofs-of-Concepts are ongoing to adapt the model to other types of transportation. Even more impressive, people are renting their cars to the wannabe drivers. No one saw that coming and the whole car industry is trying to adapt fast enough. Same for the insurance companies who need to be more open in their evaluation process. Yet, there are saving money with the automation of the whole process.

The Internet is secure again. Or at least it is better than it has been lately. The whole TLS infrastructure moved naturally to a blockchain based security. . It is much easier now to point rogue certificate in the wild. The DNS is a bit slower to follow suit but things are progressing. Those systems are more robust thanks to the decentralization and security of the blockchains.

There is a boom in art and culture. Artists are able to finance their art in amazing ways. Crowd-funding or more exactly community-funding exploded the last couple of years. You don't need to subscribe to five different music providers to listen to your favorite music. New business model are emerging everywhere and this push the quantity and the quality of the pieces.

Local markets and P2P exchange is a trend today: from crops, and home-produced vegetables to excess of solar or wind energy, everything is trade-able on those local markets. You need one Orange for your glass of juice? You want one strawberry for the decoration of your cake? Micro-transactions have never been this affordable and interesting. A whole new economy seems unraveled.

What is the common denominators between the most popular mobile games, digital collectibles and the latest trendy social media? The answer is something that you might have heard in raunchy stories of criminals, money launderers and amateur traders: the blockchain...

• I am sorry to interrupt your quality reading time but I do not want to hold you too long from your main event. I saw on your face that you are realizing that you are interacting more and more with what you were just ostracizing. Let me tell you an analogy, to make you understand why it is so: Blockchain is like email or Internet. Not everyone understand how they really work deep down, but we pretty much see the advantages of it and use it a lot. This session is live on multiple social networks and tv channels and live streams. You better vote wisely on my proposition. We are watching you like never before.
