Time to Ebb

Life is tiring when you find yourself in the midst of chaos again and you’ve gotta pull it back, reel it in, find a way to organize it again even as you know it’ll slip out of the order and in a month or 2 you’ll need to do the process all over again. It’s just the nature of it, the ebb and flow.

Yesterday was the super blue blood moon and eclipse… What a hard tug, like getting jerked back on the end of a rope. Time to ebb. It sort of feels like the part of the breast stroke where you pull your arms back to reset them for the next burst of momentum forward, a necessary preparation step like the energy used to compress a spring.

I can feel these next few weeks are about to be a time of change. Andy leaves soon, his camper’s almost complete. That in itself brings change. We got so used to change out on the road so the balance of stagnancy has caught up. Not that we’ve really been stagnant but there’s something about being on the move verses being … I don’t want to use the word stuck… but rooted would fit better. When you’re on the go you dream of rootedness but when you’re on the go you can’t help to daydream about travel.

Find your frequency.

It reminds me of some of those Buddhist or zen texts or quotes or maybe something Alan Watts once said, one of those “you always want what you don’t have so let go of desire,” kind of things. And so I find that balance, alter my frequency.

And then my eyes blur a picture across the room and I see my friend in the picture is surely a centaur and the thought propagates in my mind.
