|
I write an infant of understanding,
It grows before my jaundiced eyes
Toddles through euphoric treetunnels
To fly, a falcon swooping over dire
Cliff into the valley of the unknown.
|
Down in the dramatic concavity,
Here on the digital planet
Hands burst transactions into being
They impress the code with binary touch
Into the monochrome receptacle
Of convenience & chaos
|

|
All the streets are neurons
All the concrete is quartz
All the people are wires
Of various metals that
Build up the static
Of electric rapport
|
Observation's phoenix, unbiased eye,
Perches on the thick wire lines that
Carry the energy of time combusted
To the television and the fridge.
|
I reach into the city's cubboard:
It is bare, but painted with
Persistence in bright colors.
I gaze at the graffiti'd
Adolescence, shake
My head and grin,
Give up to life
All life's
Resistance.
