a review about "Don't Speak" song by "No Doubt" band
This Classic song which it's from the '90s is called "Don't Speak" and it was released in 1995 as one of the tracks in Tragic Kingdom's album, it was produced by Matthew Wilder and its lyrics was written by Gwen Stefani's brother, Eric Stefani (founder and former member of No Doubt) which it was love song but later Gwen Stefani (Lead Vocalist of The band) changed the lyrics to something related to her life and about the band and a breakup she had with her bandmate/ex-boyfriend Tony Kanal.
The song is in the key of A minor and its tempo was 108 bpm, it is an alternative rock song. It's included Instruments such as Electric Guitar. Bass, Drums, Acoustic Guitar, Organs, Cello, Spanish Guitar, Sax, Main Vocals and Back Vocals, In Gwen's Vocals melodies and performance I hear some blues techniques and she, sings perfectly on the changes the music has when the change the chord progression the song becomes more interesting and it is like passing the limits and I love the creativity they had in this song like a part where they used Spanish/Nylon Guitar, I also enjoyed much when I heard this full and powerful mix.
The song had much success in the whole world but in the USA, It didn't chart on the US Billboard Hot 100( because of the rules of that time which required commercial singles for charting, and one was not issued for the song), but the song reached number one on the "Hot 100 Airplay" chart for 16 weeks.
But Outside of the US, it could top the charts in countries such as Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada, the Republic of Ireland, Iceland, the Netherlands, and New Zealand. it was even nominated for song of the year and also best pop performance and it won the 40th Grammy Awards. "Don't Speak" became their most successful international single.
