Group E

SWITZERLAND 2 - 2 COSTA RICA

Costa Rica has one of the best closure scenarios they could´ve had, playing the way they should´ve played through all the tournament, daring to try new things and to be different in the field... if they had played like that on the first two matches perhaps they would´ve qualified to the next round. The score was 0 - 0 and CR already had 2 shoots that slammed on the post and a few more offensive plays.

Switzerland on the other hand has a lot of offensive play and, even though the score was a 2 goal tie, it could´ve been a
5 goal tie. It was a very dynamic game where the Swiss team struggled to contain the Central Americans.

Blerim Dzemaili at minute 34 and Josip Drmic at minute 88gave the tie to Switzerland; on the Costarican side it was Kendall Waston at 56 and Yann Sommer scored an own goal derived from a penalty shootout missed by Bryan Ruiz at 90+3.

Gran cierre para Costa Rica en la Copa del Mundo, jugando como debió haber jugado los dos primeros partidos, atreviéndose a hacer cosas diferentes dentro de la cancha, en este partido se vio como Costa Rica si pudo haber tenido un papel diferente. Todavía no se abría el marcador y Costa Rica ya llevaba dos postes en la portería de Suiza derivados de grandes jugadas individuales.

Suiza por su parte también tuvo bastante llegada, y aunque el marcador fue empate a dos goles, bien pudo haber sido un empate a cinco goles, fue un partido dinámico donde Suiza se las vio duras para contener a los costarricenses.

Blerim Dzemaili al minuto 34 Josip Drmic al minuto 88 fueron los anotadores del equipo Suizo y de Costa Rica Kendall Waston al minuto 56 y Yann Sommer metió un autogol derivado de un penal tirado por Bryan Ruiz al 90+3.

SERBIA 0 - 2 BRAZIL

Serbia was looking for a victory that would secure them a ticket for the knockout stage but Brazil was looking to secure the first place of the group, this derived in a game entirely controlled by Brazil who didn´t allow the Serbians to function the way they did on the first two games. Brazil rapidly went ahead in the score board with a goal from Paulinho at minute 36.

This time the Brazilian team didn´t have so many offensive plays as in the first two games but they managed to convert two times; they were more lethal this time. Thiago Silva extended the goal difference at the 66 minute mark and from there the game was just a mere tramit for the South Americans.

Serbia buscaba una victoria que le diera el pase a la siguiente ronda, sin embargo Brasil buscaba por su parte asegurar el primer lugar del grupo, lo que derivo en un partido completamente dominado por los brasileños, que no dejaron funcionar a serbia y rápidamente se fueron arriba en el marcador con un gol de Paulinho por encima de la salida del portero al minuto 36.

En esta ocasión las llegadas del equipo brasileño no fueron tantas y tan claras pero supieron meter las dos jugadas de gol que tuvieron y al minuto 66 Thiago Silva amplio la ventaja en el marcador y anoto un gol de cabeza desde un tiro de esquina. El resto del partido fue un tramite y Brasil aseguro el primer lugar de este sector.

Group F

SOUTH KOREA 2 - 0 GERMANY

South Korea was pretty much eliminated from the competition, they needed to beat Germany and they needed Mexico to beat Sweden in order to qualify to the next round, that scenario was far from happening. But the South Korean honour played a key role here and they got 3 points out of this match, the same points Germany got in the whole torunament< the Koreans can leave with the chin up after giving one of the best games of their world cup history.

The Germans needed a win combined with a loss or tie from Sweden to advance to the next stage. They got tired of attacking Korea but they never scored; this was not their torunament, everything came out wrong for them from the first minute of the cup.

The germans got more and more anxioius and desperate because the minutes were passing and the score was still 0 - 0. They got reckless and started to open spaces on their deffense which came perfectly for the Koreans and just when the game was about to end Korea scored a 90+2 minute goal that was validated by the VAR technology, and then the humilliation came for the Germans when Son Heung Min would score by a pentaly shoot out the 2 - 0 that secured the victory for Korea.

Corea del sur ya estaba eliminado del torneo para el momento de jugar este partido final del grupo F, sin embargo el Honor SurCoreano intentaría buscar 3 puntos para despedir dignamente la participación de los asiáticos, mientras que los alemanes necesitaban de un triunfo, combinado con una derrota o empate de Suecia, los alemanes se cansaron de buscar el gol por todos los medios pero simplemente este no fue su torneo y fallaron, como en todos los partidos, oportunidades muy claras frente a la portería roja.

La desesperación le gano a los alemanes y descuidaron su defensa en varios contragolpes de los Coreanos, sin embargo fue hasta el minuto 90+2 que los coreanos abrieron el marcador con un gol anulado en primera instancia pero que gracias al VAR se hizo valido, y faltaría mas para la humillación alemana, ya que al minuto 90 + 6 se marcaría un penal para los coreanos que Son Heung Min marcaria de manera perfecta.

MEXICO 0 - 3 SWEDEN

The alarms sounded hard for Mexico on this game and with reason because Mexico was completely overran by the Europeans; Mexico was highly inoperative against a Swedish deffense who plays like a top tier deffense. Sweden stopped Mexico every time the Mexicans tried to set an offensive play; the Mexicans justt didn´t read the game properly and kept trying to score through the center instead of trying to create plays through the sidelines.

Sweden took advantage of a deffensive mistake from Mexico and Ludwig Augustinsson scored a broken goal; after that, the referee gifted the Swedish with a penalty kick badly called that Andreas Granqvist took advantage of and score a great goal.

The Mexicans were desperate to score a goal - a goal that would get them out of Germany´s reach and would secure them the 2nd place of the group - and opened some spaces in their deffense; Edson Alvarez made a huge mistake and trying to kick the ball out of danger, scored an own goal that clenched the 3 - 0 in favor of Sweden.

México activo las alarmas en su tercer partido de grupo pues fue inoperante frente a una selección de Suecia que defiende como los grandes, y bloqueo totalmente las opciones del ataque mexicano, que fuera de entender que tenían que hacer daño por las bandas, optaron por intentar crear jugadas de peligro por el centro del campo, situación que favorecía a Suecia en todos los sentidos.

Suecia aprovecho un error defensivo de México para abrir el marcador al minuto 50 por medio de Ludwig Augustinsson, después el arbitro le regalaría un penal a la selección de Suecia que Andreas Granqvist aprovecharía de manera excelente dejando sin opción al portero mexicanos Guillermo Ochoa, que adivino la dirección del esférico, pero que poco pudo hacer ante un tiro tan esquinado.

Ya con los mexicanos desesperados por conseguir una anotación, Edson Alvarez lateral derecho cometió un error garrafal al momento de intentar despejar el balón metió un gol en su propia portería para cerrar el marcador 3 - 0.
