Term: Formant
Definition: an amplified harmonic that gives
a vocal continuant a characteristic vowel sound, and by its amplitude relative to the fundamental, also more subtle tone color
A region of the spectrum where the components are consistently strong regardless of the exact fundamental frequency of the note being sounded
An element in the sound of a voice or instrument that does not change frequency as different pitches are sounded.
