Petertag Witness Update 21 November 2018

Hey y'all, know I've been a bit quiet lately, but still running my server and working on Steem-related things! Been busy as hell finishing up this quarter of school, as well as working at Animatra. Also been busy in the Steem community, just been a bit quieter since I haven't had any time to code new releases in pywit or test the add-on that I made for Steemmonsters. Here's an update though, along with the news that I'm done with school for the foreseeable future, so I'll have a lot more time to work on Steem projects without the work and associated procrastination/stress of school. Short updates on each me and pywit:

My Witness Server

My witness server is still running strong, up in Canada. The specs for the server are as follows:

• Intel Xeon D-1520 4c/8t with 2.20 GHz
• 64 GB of DDR4 RAM
• 2x2TB Softraid

My witness rank has improved (slightly)! The last time I self-reported my witness rank, I had it a little confused due to active/total ranks, as well as the HF20 madness still affecting some witnesses (showing me with a much higher active rank at the time than I had votes wise). I'm up to #326 in all witnesses, with 10 MV of votes, and #154 active. I've gathered some votes from the awesome Lion's Den community I'm in, as well as people I've helped or just ran into around Steem and related communities.

I run my own witness monitor and price feed software, on my Raspberry Pi, and haven't had any downtime yet. That doesn't matter of course, since I also haven't been assigned a block yet. It will happen eventually, but it'll happen quicker with your help!

Pywit

Before I had to drop almost everything to finish up with school, I'd released the first major version of pywit and updated along with some suggestions by community members. Although it's certainly useful to me, and perhaps to others, it can use improvement. A lot of improvement. First would be tests, but I actually have almost full test coverage, just haven't uploaded yet due to an error encountered while testing (that's what it's for :) that I'm making sure doesn't break functionality or security. Expect updates ASAP.

Me!

I'm back in Kansas City for Thanksgiving, hanging out with family and my dogs. Trying to not waste time here by doing work, but I can't really spend the whole day chilling with them. Beautiful here, taking my girlfriend to the Plaza Lights tomorrow night, and the Nelson-Atkins Art Museum on Friday.
