Witness Updated to 0.20.4
Hello everyone!
So yup it's that time of the day again, time to replay your witness server again. It's a daily thing now you know. I have now just finished replaying and the witness is now on 0.20.4. I heard about it last night, but was too tired to do it then, not that it matters. I'm not really too sure about this current patch. I don't even know who it was discussed with. Probably within the top 20 secret chat. Maybe not even there? But x10 the RC seems like it wasn't even thought out, it's like applying a band-aid to a sinking ship. But anyway I have to update, because I don't want to get left behind. 😒💩

Thanks for putting out the new patch. It looks like finally we have some resource credits to work with. I'm still not sure why the powers that be didn't give us too many resource credits and then work their way down. It seems like they picked arbitrary numbers that were just much too low. Moving forward.
The numbers are real man, a complex system is involved. First they throw a dart at a dartboard, multiple the number by their house number, multiply by the year, divide by 5, add the weight of the half eaten apple left on the counter, multiply by your height. Good enough 😂
Anyways, hopefully things work out, it has only been a few days. Just a little annoyed by it all if you couldn't tell. 😉

I think we're all a little annoyed by it. It could have and should have been run so much better. It's what we expect from the top though. The thing I thought was funny was that Steemit basically said they set up this new system so that they don't need witness approval to make some changes in the future. That should be a huge red flag to a lot of people. Has anyone else talked about that? It basically means they've centralized a huge component of the blockchain.

Yeah more testing was needed, from what I hear it's all micromanaged too, they need managers below ned, a dev manager, a pr manager, relations with the witnesses (outside the top 20). Social media presence. It just feels like it's failing at all corners.
They control the code as far as I'm aware. So they control the chain. So it is centralised in that sense. And probably picking the top 20, keep them in line. 😉
Anyway I know this all sounds doom and gloom, but it's not too late, changes could be made, but will they????
There are a number of positions that I would like to see them add at Steemit Inc. They have so much potential in the Steem blockchain, and they have so much ability to raise capital through the divestment of stake in order to pay for aforementioned people that it seems strange that they haven't hired more. It could be a control issue. I don't really know.
Not only that it would benefit them doing so, their stake will be worth so much more in the end. It would pay for itself.
Exactly. There are so many things that the management could do that would benefit us, but would also be self-serving because in the long-run it would help them too. I think there's a certain lack of vision... that or they have a vision, but it still doesn't include us first 1 million users. I really can't believe that N would say that. I can believe that he would think it, but don't say it.
