I look for witnesses that are trying to give back to the community in some form. That could be in the form of creating tools for users, developing code and suggestions for Steem Inc. It could be in the form of contests and curation like we do at @steemcreative. There are a few witnesses that don't really do anything for the platform at all, those are the ones that I try to stay away from.
