2013 Chilcas Single Vineyard Maule Valley Chardonnay 750ML for $28/bottle (or $3 for the first bottle for first time buyers!) but only 2.12% of the offer, ie. 97%+ are UPGRADES!!
Winemaker Notes: The grapes were harvested during the third week of March and immediately transported to the winery for sorting and pressing. Next, 20% of the fruit was cold macerated for eight to ten hours followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks. 100% of the wine was then aged on its lees for ten to twelve months in French oak barrels. The wine was naturally cold stabilized during winter and then earth-filtered once prior to bottling. Tasting Notes: The 2013 Chilcas Single Vineyard Chardonnay displays a light greenish-yellow color with golden hues. Very intense on the nose, this wine unveils elegant characters of stone and tropical fruits such as pineapple, mango, kiwi and peach. The palate is balanced with a lovely harmony among fruit notes, freshness and integrated sweetness.

Accolades: 93 pts.- Burghound: "The nose is presently slightly reduced which is not unusual just after the bottling. My sense is that it won't last as it seems clear that the underlying fruit is ripe. There is excellent density and plenty of punch to the big-bodied and voluminous flavors that enjoy ample mid-palate concentration before culminating in an agreeably dry, clean and impressively long, indeed even explosive finish. The only nit is a hint of warmth but overall this is excellent and should amply reward 7 to 10 years of cellar time." Winemaker Notes: This is the only Domaine in Burgundy that makes solely Grand Cru, owning the single largest block of vineyards on the Corton hill, "their Corton-Charlemagne is one of the greatest wines in all Burgundy" (Clive Coates MW).

Winemaker Notes: This is our first single vineyard Hawk Hill Chardonnay, and it was greatly influenced by Greg’s ongoing love affair with white Burgundian wines. Aromas of white peach pit, ginger, lemon custard and citrus blossom, combine with flavors of, apricot, hazelnut and green apple, which are all complemented by mouthwatering natural acidity and vibrant minerality. 220 cases made.
