Everyone has a little dirty laundry #thediarygame 200531

I remember my friend @vickyli had once written an article about Desperate Housewife, the drama series, I remember really well one of the well known phrase from that show, "everyone has a little dirty laundry".

That phrase has been constantly reminding myself that there's so much dirty laundry I hide in my life. Sometimes, it's not like we purposely tell a lie, sometimes it just a white lie to make someone feel more comfortable about the situation. My cousin brother passing for example, it was in March when we're still on a strict pandemic lockdown, my cousin suffered a heart attack and died one of the evening. Our cousins had a mutual agreement to cover up his death and never tell our old-man to avoid disappointment.

Easier said than done. Everytime when the elderly asking of where's my cousin's about, I will have to look them in their eyes and tell them he was assigned outpost and will not be returning soon. When the old men give me a very mild smile, roll their eyes down and look down, I wonder if they already heard of something and was testing my honesty. Are they suspecting my cousin is not longer here with us anymore? Did they try to call him? But of course, when the old men ask me to pass a message, tell him to take good care of himself. I felt a sense of relief because I manage to convince them my cousin is busy, but the same time I felt sinful for telling a lie. When about to sleep, I will still think about the message the old folks asked me to pass to my dead cousin. Did they purposely give me that message so it makes me feel easier on my lie?

My dear friends, this has anything to do with my daily diary writing in #steem #blockchain. You know my style has always been positive and lively, but I just felt like sharing this to you today. Life is just too short to keep the dirty laundry hiding beneath the sofa. They may be safe in our heart, someday these laundry will become smelly and rot, karma may just catch us when we are least expecting it.
