Weekend Freewrite: Prompt - Plug + Fever

The sound of tiny footsteps followed by a faint screeching sound on the floor caught my attention.

"Baby, you're playing with the earphones again. Be gentle with them or the silicone plugs will come off."

"Okay, Mama... Mama, look! I'm a doctor, I can hear your heartbeat. Come, let me check your forehead. Oh no, you have fever!"

"Oh, Dr Baby! Thank goodness you're here, I must be the luckiest patient to be checked by you. Am I all good now?"

"Yes Mama, you're all good. I will give you a Cool Fever and you can stick it on your forehead, then your fever will be gone!"

"Wow, that's great! Thank you, Dr Baby!"

"You're welcome!"

He walked away proudly with the earphone plugged to his ears while hunting for his next "victim", I mean, patient, his toy bear.

"How are you doing, Teddy? What? You got fever, too? Oh no! Don't worry, I'll check you!"

He attended to the poor little bear, pretending to listen to his heartbeat with the end of the earphone plug and prescribed some honey to make the little teddy well.

"See, all better!"

Everybody at home got themselves checked by the attentive Dr Baby. He made sure everyone was well taken care of before he tucked into bed for the night.

He drifted off to dreamland with a big smile on his face. Everything was right again in the world.
