Wednesday Walk -
This is my week’s post for #wednesdaywalk challenge hosted by @tattoodjay. There is a #makemesmile challenge too, but this post can’t fit in that category... keep reading to find out why.
So my daily walk in my neighborhood ‘concrete jungle’ started out nice, I passed by a fire house. I admire Fire Fighters and I love the trucks. Thank God it was quiet today. When there is an emergency, the sirens are really loud and scary.
I am surprised I never walked this way. This firehouse is right by a park that I visit very often, but I use an opposite entrance. How strange! On this side of the park, there is a huge granite wall!!!!
Some moss and lichens... couldn’t resist trying to get some details 😊
So... that was the nice part of my walk. Going back home I decided to stop in a local produce shop to buy some ginger and garlic. And my mood changed.
First of all, I must say that I am a big advocate for small businesses. I prefer to pay a little extra and support local shops. But today I lost my respect for those little corner shops.
There was no ginger. Weird, they always have ginger. The garlic, Oh My Gosh! The price doubled overnight. From 99 cents a pack, to $1.99 in the first store I checked and in the second store, 2 for $5 (and you HAD to buy 2 packs). How about that? Don’t tell me that the price was increased by the suppliers... they had this garlic in stock for a while. They just take advantage of this Corona virus panicking, when people buy stuff to protect their health. Really people? Garlic?
I believe in Karma, and everybody should believe in it. What goes around comes round. And honestly, the ‘supporting’ activity looks like one-sided. I will have to reconsider it.
Anyways, I ended up buying only one garlic head, from Stop’n Shop. It was $1. Rip off. At least it was labeled organic.
I to have a lot of respect for firefighters, and love those shots along the wall
I get very frustrated when people take advantage of situations ot jackup the price slike that
Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :)
