Hello STEEMIT - we are new here and we would like to introduce ourselves :-)

We are WAMP and we play Peace Metal

This is our story - from Metal 2 Peace

It all began in early 2016 with a message out of the blue asking whether I wanted to write a song for the Anti-TTIP Campaign. Of course, I wanted. For a very long time, ​the secretive and intransparent procedures trying to push TTIP and CETA through against all resistance have been enraging me. The idea of adding my share to the fight against those neo-liberal trade-deals in form of a song struck me immediately and with great excitement, I started working on the song.
I still remember the great moments of joy when I heard the vocal takes Berlin-based singer Ajugafan had recorded for the song. For the first tim, ​ a singer was interpreting my lyrics and vocal lines. And it all worked through the internet!
It didn’t take long for the next idea to emerge from the depths of the world-wide-web: writing a song for the STOPP AIR BASE RAMSTEIN CAMPAIGN. I uploaded the song on a Friday at noon and by the sunset of the same day Paula P’Cay had already written the lyrics and recorded the vocals.
We even got invited to perform the song live at the STOPP RAMSTEIN protest march on June 11th, 2016. The song was performed live by Ly Energie and Rabten on vocals which lead​ to getting invited to several music and peace festivals in 2017.
In the meantime WAMP was blessed to perform and record with a wide range of musicians (chronological order): Ajugafan, Paula P’Cay, Felix FX, Ly Energie, Rabten, Patricia Heidrich, Karsten Schützler, Barbara Duchow, Siggy Zufacher, Jacky Kah, Kyle Hagen and Charly Beck - to be continued in the struggle for peace in the world.
