When winter is in full swing and the streets circling the Blizzard, we often dream about the warm sun and remember the nice summer days. But today I don't want to live with only memories. Today, I want to be there where everything reminds you of summer.

The tropical complex "MINDO" nestled in one of St. Petersburg courtyards. It is a garden of live butterflies.

We don't even have a clue about what awaits us beyond this very modest sign at the entrance. But, once inside, we realized that we were not mistaken in their expectations and ahead of us a lot of interesting.

The entire second floor of this historic building was transformed into the garden of Eden. Everywhere we hear the sounds of birds and the murmur of the water; we see a variety of plants and flowers; background plays nice relaxation music and fly all over the place a lot of colorful butterflies.

I've never seen so many butterflies. They're everywhere: on plants, on walls, on the ceiling... even on the floor. So you need to move and act very carefully.

• Pavlinoglazka Atlas (Attacus atlas). The world's largest butterfly. It is found only in the tropical rainy forests on the Islands of Southeast Asia. The most common place - the Indonesian island of Borneo . Its wingspan is 32 cm. Life is very short 5 days. For us, explained the reason for such short life. The thing is that it has no oral apparatus and can not eat. It accumulates its power when it is in the stage of caterpillar. So her belly looks so big. Once the energy is spent, it will die.

Being here , I really felt a state of harmony and peace. Emotions are hard to describe. Sometimes it was like the joy of children.

I know that in Ecuador there is a Park of MINDO. There is a butterfly farm. There biologists grow different species of tropical butterflies. In this nursery of MINDO you can watch all the stages of development of a butterfly. It is likely that the idea of the garden of live butterflies were borrowed from there. I will certainly ask this question during one of my visits to these miniature jungle in the heart of our Northern citie. I'm sure I will again want to visit this tropical area for a few hours to be in the jungle.

Привет, мои друзья! Сегодня я приглашаю Вас на прогулку в Тропический комплекс. Когда зима в самом разгаре и на улицах кружится метель, то мы всё чаще мечтаем о тёплом солнце и вспоминаем приятные летние дни. Но сегодня я не хочу жить лишь воспоминаниями.Сегодня я хочу оказаться там , где всё напоминает о лете. Тропический комплекс "Миндо " уютно расположился в одном из Питерских двориков. Это сад живых бабочек.
Мы даже не имели представления о том что нас ожидает за этой очень скромной вывеской у входа. Но, войдя внутрь, мы поняли, что не ошиблись в своих ожиданиях и впереди нас ждёт много интересного.
Весь второй этаж этого старинного здания был превращён в Райский сад. Повсюду слышны звуки птиц и журчание воды; мы видим множество различных цветов и растений; фоном играет приятная релакс музыка и повсюду летают множество разноцветные бабочки.
Я никогда не видела такого большого количества бабочек. Они здесь повсюду: на растениях, на стенах, на потолке... даже на полу. Поэтому нужно передвигаться и вести себя очень аккуратно.
Это настоящий Музей живых бабочек. Нам рассказали, что здесь собраны одни из лучших и красивейших видов бабочек со всего мира.
Такой удивительный ассортимент живых экспонатов в тропическом музее возможен за счёт собственного инкубатора. Мы видим, что скоро появятся новые особи и коллекция этого живого музея пополнится новыми бабочками. Нам рассказали, что не все виды можно вырастить в неволе. Это связано со многими сложностями.
Когда бабочки подрастают, то наступает время для её первого самостоятельного свободного полёта. Её выпускают из инкубатора. Мы имели уникальную возможность увидеть этот момент. И вот она - эта красавица перед нами. Павлиноглазка Атлас (Attacus atlas). Это крупнейшая в мире бабочка. Она обитает только в тропических дождливых лесах на островах юго-восточной Азии. Самое распространённое место - индонезийский остров Борнео . Размах её крыльев составляет 32 сантиметра. Срок жизни очень короткий - 5 дней. Для нас объяснили причину столь короткой жизни. Всё дело в том, что она не имеет ротового аппарата и не может питаться. Она накапливает своё питание, когда находится в стадии гусеницы. Поэтому её брюшко выглядит таким крупным. Как только энергия заканчивается, то она погибает.
В этом саду удивительная и приятная атмосфера. Можно часами наблюдать как кружатся вокруг нас эти красивые обитатели тропических лесов. Это так необычно. Мы можем наблюдать за ними с очень близкого расстояния. Они могут присесть на понравившихся посетителей.
Здесь были и другие обитатели природного мира. Это тоже вызывало интерес и создавало особую атмосферу.
Находясь здесь , я действительно ощутила состояние гармонии и покоя. Эмоции сложно описывать. Иногда это было похоже на детский восторг.
Я знаю, что в Эквадоре есть парк Миндо. Там есть ферма бабочек. Там биологи выращивают различные виды тропических бабочек. В этом питомнике Миндо можно наблюдать все стадии развития бабочки. Вероятно , что идея нашего сада живых бабочек была заимствована именно оттуда. Я обязательно задам этот вопрос при следующем моём посещении этих миниатюрных джунглей в самом центре нашего северного города. Я уверена, что снова захочу посетить этот тропический уголок и на несколько часов оказаться в джунглях.
