Handling life's pressures

in #wafrica6 years ago

I know a lot about a lot of things and this us not because I'm "Mr Know all" as most of you will be tempted to call me but one thing I don't have the solution to is how to adequately deal with pressures of life but I sure have an idea winks.

The social media has made it worse and people now have started going out of their way to impress others. For instance I went online and saw an old coursemate on Instagram in a range rover sport car flauting his wealth. At some point I got envious that things are working out that well for me and he is now a ** big boy** now and i still dont own a range...some of my old course mates also would have seen His post and start comparing themselves with him and begin to give themselves unnecessary pressure to quickly acquire wealth just to prove that they ain't backwards in life. Now I happened to go to the airport a few weeks to drop a friends who was traveling and low and behold I saw that old course mate of mine working at the airport car park. What! I said to myself so the car we all saw him flaunting with is a car parked at the carpark.

Life can be funny. We all face pressures in several and different areas of our lives daily, sometimes in our school, at work, in life e.t.c. the most annoying part of this is that these pressures comes more from our families. Because you are 30 and not married and your friends are all getting married doesn't mean you are backward. Life's pressures can be overwhelming at time but here are some tips on how to overcome it.

1. Have a Positive mindset

Believe me sometimes its easier said than done as we are all humans and we emotional in nature. But having the right mindset in the midst of pressures can be a huge booster. Always know that there is no competition in life and everyone moves at his or her own pace. Take it one step at a time and you will surely overcome.

2. Understand that You are uniquely created.

Just as our faces are different so also are our purpose and destinies. Don't compare your race with others try walking a mike in their shoes and you'll discover hidden facts. Stick to what works for you and improve in it, just because Mr A is doing it doesn't make it right for Mr You to do. It might work for someone else but might not work for you.

just like a chain fits a dog and rope fits a goat. I can't imagine a man strolling down the lawn with a goat in chains and a dog in rope, doesn't it sound odd? Be yourself. The world will appreciate you better.

3. Everything is not as it appears.

Most celebrities you see on TV, social media and all ain't as they appear. If only you can see them for who they really are and closely see the challenges they face you will be grateful for your little modest life. Don't be deceived, the fact that I'm smiling doesn't mean I'm happy. Most people are going through a lot, learn to be happy for how far you've come and work hard so you can get to where you want to be.

Authors Note

In Life there's time for everything, a time to be born and a time to die. Just as there are seasons, Autumn, winter, Summer, and spring so also there are times and seasons in a man's life. Do not judge a man by a season he might just be in his planting season, his harvest is coming. Believe in yourself and work hard. the sky as usual is the starting point.
