It's been a long ride, no doubt. We're currently in week 4, and I love the fact that concepts are given to us to practise the video editing. This makes it even more appealing. Last week, it was the use of audio, and this week is transitions, animations and effects. I'll be sharing a diary of how my day went in videos and pictures with the above tools and previous ones.

Starting Materials
  • Capcut
  • 5 GB Free Space
  • Pixabay for audio download Pixabay free music
  • Video Compressor for compressing MB size
  • YouTube for uploading video after editing
Tools I made use of in the Process
  • Overlay
  • Animation
  • Audio
  • Speed
  • Video Effect [Effect tool ]
  • Volume
  • Split
  • Aspect Ratio

Pictures and videos used
Video of the bright morning skyVideo of me singing — Let it Go
Video of me doing the dance video for the songPictures of my appearance
Videos of me going to dad's shop and charging my phoneVideos of my experience in a salon
Picture of me in a street-food placeVideos of the cooking process
Pictures of the takeaway and eating processVideo of sundown
Video of our meetingsPictures of my dinner
Steps of the tools used

Step 1:

To start this video editing, my videos needed to be arranged. I needed to group it from my morning activities to evening. And there must be an alignment in video pattern. So I made use of the ASPECT RATIO tool to give my videos and pictures a good alignment and format. I choose 16.9 as the standard landscape format. After applying this tool, my pictures couldn't adjust the way I wanted since they were in portraits.

1001168996.jpgAspect Ratio

I had to adjust the pictures by pinching the pictures out to fill the blank spaced. After doing that, I aligned the videos and pictures together. My pictures were placed after each video that features them.

Step 2: Duration minimisation, speed and split usage

After aligning the media perfectly, I decided to work on my duration. My duration was almost 4 minutes, if not 4, and the challenge requires 1-2 minutes. I know I had quite a long day, but this can be explained under the duration given. I decided to use the Split - Cut - Delete — Adjust tool. This tool helps me remove parts that are not necessarily needed in a video. For example, in my singing video, I had to make it 19 seconds and remove 2 minutes plus using the split tool.

SplitDelete and Speed

Once I located what I needed to trash, I clicked on Split which separates the part I needed from the ones not needed, giving me an option to delete the one I needed to trash. By doing this, I was able to reduce the duration from 4 minutes to 1:58 minutes if I'm not mistaken. I did both splitting and adjusting for videos and pictures. But another tool which is part of the split helped me.

It's the speed feature. This helped me reduce the duration by making a video move faster. The medias I made fast were...

  • my visit to my dad's shop clip

  • my stay in the barbering salon

  • my visit to a street-food vendor

  • sundown clip and

  • assembling at a meeting to worship God clip

Step 3: Volume on video

I didn't silence the sound in all my videos. I did silence that of the blue sky clip but aspects where I had to sing and dance, I allowed it display perfectly so I can be heard crystal clear. I silenced the clips at the salon and Street-food stand. Allowing these sounds would make the video lousy and repulsive to viewers. Instead, I added audio and voiceovers using the audio tool.

Step 4: Audio and Voiceovers addition

After silencing a few clips, I decided to put audio from this site in my videos so they can act as accompaniment. This is the link to the song I downloaded for my audio. From audio — Sounds — Device — Search button — Add.

This was how I added my music after downloading it from the site below.

I made use of the volume and split too for my audio to make the sound balance with video clips that had sounds. In most clips, I had the split the music and then continue it from a clip that is silenced, allowing the clip with full volume to run without mixing tapes. The following shows the steps I took.

For the voiceovers, I decided to learn Spanish by using it where necessary. I ensured my volume and pitch balanced with the music and sound from the video. These three sounds had to be balance. I added voice overs in major clips and then used the SPEED tool to rhyme with my clips. Afterwards, was addition of overlays and what was taught this week.

Step 5: Overlays

Adding overlays was basically to add steemit logo and also to create impressions in-between clips.

1001168615.jpg1001168619.jpg

Step 6: Animations and Effects

I added a few animations at the beginning of my video and in my second clip. I also added a video effect in one of my clips, the dance video. Choosing animations is very essential as it can make your video distorted or repulsive to the eyes of the viewers. Some animations can affect one's eyesight. So this must be carefully selected. I added the Multi Polaroid video effect to make it look catchy as it were to be.

This is the final result of my video editing on the Diary Game Concept. A brief summary of my diary game is explained in words since it used voiceovers in English. The diary game

Buenos Dias. Soy bossj23. I started my day by admiring the blue sky and then did vocal training on a song titled 'Let it Go' by Demi Lovato. Like, my voice was giving treble, and I was inspired to sing this song because of what happens in life. Still not content, I did a video to express my emotions, and as the overlay has it, the emotions were 'damn', though it looked like I was running crazy. This is what I said.

In my dad's shop clip

Hi guys, this is costly and this is my dad's shop where we do all kinds of sewing, weaving, men wears like senators, Etibors and Shirts. After spending a while there, I left to charge my phone as we lack electricity supply. I then said: I'm going to charge my phone in this solar place due to lack of electricity in my area.

In the barbering salon clip

I said....The quality of their service was top-notch and I love the ambience. Even though their hair styling prices are exorbitant, it's worth paying for.

When I was done, I purchased a street food, another challenge on Steemit, to satisfy my hunger. Noodles and eggs were prepared and given me in a takeaway plate as I was running out of time. I took it home to consume and then prepared for a meeting. This is a meeting we worship and learn about God. Afterwards, I had my dinner of isi-ewu and Malta to end my day.

I invite @sahmie, @lhorgic and @kouba01

Great entry brotherly, I wish you the very best.

Thank you.

Me encanto.

Saludos.

Let me do that now. Thanks for the reminder

Hey Dancer & Singer, I just enjoyed your video. The starting view of the video was amazing. Blue sky, green zone. But, at some point if the video was too fast!

Thanks buddy. I really appreciate. Thanks. Maybe I'll make it a little normal next time. There's a community where a singing competition show is ongoing. I'll love if you check it out and subscribe to the community.
