The Chop, Today's Future Sound & Play Bar Present THE CHOP X Today's Future Sound BEAT BATTLE FUNDRAISER & PHILTHYBEATS LIVE for the Sydney length of his Australian Tour.
Renowned Hip Hop producer and head butcher PhillipDrummond Philthybeats was here all the way from Oakland/San Fran USA for his national Aus Tour and Beat Battle Fundraiser for his charity Today's Future Sound which just hit Australian shores.

Joining him on the night was The Chop Family members MONASTRY (Live), MUMBLES (Live Finger Drumming Showcase, Dj's RAINE SUPREME & BENNY HINN.
Defiantly was not a night to miss out on!!!

BEAT BATTLE
Some of Sydney's most talented local Beat-Makers/Producers were battling it out for some major prizes from The Chop & Today's Future Sounds sponsors such as AKAI PRO, SAILOR JERRY, ABLETON, WELL DRESSED VANDALS, PHABLE, OZHIPHOPSHOP, FRUITY LOOPS, MI CASA STUDIO, CROWN ST CROWN COLLECTIVE, HARDCORE CLASSIC RADIO, THE CHOP AND TODAYS FUTURE SOUNDS.

THE CHOP
The Chop is a night being held at Play bar in Sydney’s design, music and fashion hub of Surry Hills on a monthly basis. The Chop is an evening dedicated to showcasing the talents of up and coming, as well as already established beat makers/producers. The call has been sent out to all bedroom bangers, mpc masters, beat junkies and production prodigies to bring their finest cuts of A-grade beat and they have answered with cleavers in tow.
All performances will be live and butchered to order for your audio taste buds.
Along with show casing these talented artists, The Chop will be supported by some of Sydney’s finest DJ’s. They will be spinning the most mouth watering assortment of funk, soul, boogie and hip hop to accompany these talented purveyors of cold cuts and dope beats.
Play bar is an underground urban speak easy in Surry Hills frequented by everyone from corporate city slickers looking for a street style getaway to the cool kids of inner Sydney, which makes it the perfect venue for The Chop.
This is a free event designed to promote the little known beat scene in Sydney and it is well worth stepping into this musical meat market to see the range of produce.

***TODAY'S FUTURE SOUND****
Currently, we offer free training in the San Francisco Bay Area that covers progressive techniques employed in Hip/Hop and Electronic music production and DJ'ing.
Co-founder and director, Dr. Elliot Gann, a professional psychologist/producer, has been teaching in San Francisco Bay Area schools and community settings for nearly a decade. He has also conducted empirical dissertation research on Therapeutic Hip Hop activity groups, involving both rapping and beatmaking, which demonstrated the significant positive effects of such interventions. Building off of both his research findings and experience, Dr. Gann is now leading TFS to continue such work and further advocate for its use, including expanded wellness/mental health, educational, economic and social justice applications.

Our focus is on underserved communities particularly in Oakland, where we are based. We do workshops and ongoing classes in both community settings (community and youth centres like Youth Uprising) and in Oakland/Berkeley Unified School Districts at schools such as King, Edna Brewer, West Oakland Middle, Jefferson and Hoover Elementary among other places. This includes current collaborative work being done with Science, Math, Computer and Technology teachers at West Oakland Middle School to find innovative ways of delivering STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) curriculum.
