Porn Hub partners with VERGE (XVG)

Verge Currency finally put to rest wild speculations by announcing a tie up with MindGeek's Porn Hub at 10 AM New York time on 17th April. Hours before the Verge announcement, MindGeek's popular porn site PornHub put out a statement that they would accept XVG payments on their site. But most crypto enthusiasts around the world waited around hoping the partnership is something bigger than PornHub.

Although there's an initial sense of disappointment in the community, crypto enthusiasts are soon realising that this is not a joke and the porn industry is in fact massive -- currently the porn industry is valued at $97 billion industry and this is the first step ever taken towards mass adaption of a crypto currency. Verge will offer more privacy to users of Porn Hub in future. From a marketing standpoint, it may not be the best thing to tell your wife or mother that your favourite crypto is gaining adaption through selling pornography, but he sheer sense of potential due to the size of the industry makes it even more interesting commercially.

Many businesses route their payment traffic through MindGeek according to a statement put out by the company on 16 April. In fact, MindGeek owns one of the largest payment processors. By announcing a partnership with XVG, Verge Currency will be rolled out through a global marketing campaign with continuous marketing campaigns by the partner through their popular website. The reason for the tie up is mainly because

Verge Currency team raised a massive 75,000,000 in five days to cover marketing campaigns that will span across the globe, cost of integration to the partners business gateway and websites and Ledger Nano integration.

There were wild speculations earlier this week that Flipkart from India was partnering with Verge as both companies had set 17 April for a major announcement. Both Walmart and Amazon are courting Flipkart for a stake and any partnership with a crypto currency would have tremendously increased their market cap and popularity.

Leading to the announcement, Verge's price sky rocketed to a high of 0.13 (22%) and over the 30 day mark the price grew a whopping 263% per cent. That's the largest spike in price since December 2017 for Verge.

XVG's announcement is easily one of the most exciting build ups in crypto history. And on the morning of the announcement, crypto enthusiasts from around the world logged in to watch live streams on Youtube.
The general sense is disappointment but many in discord and telegram chat rooms feel it's great for the currency in the long run as it's the first step towards mass adaption of a crypto currency.
