Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (formerly known as American Dietetic Association)

It is the position of the American Dietetic Association that appropriately planned vegetarian diets, including total vegetarian or vegan diets, are healthful, nutritionally adequate, and may provide health benefits in the prevention and treatment of certain diseases. Well-planned vegetarian diets are appropriate for individuals during all stages of the life cycle, including pregnancy, lactation, infancy, childhood, and adolescence, and for athletes.

of course....... wish i lived in canada sometimes, but i just couldnt handle the cold! so many good things though!

I agree - way to preach!

Unfortunately the dietetic associations in the German speaking countries are not as open to a vegan diet as the organisations you mentioned... :(

About time, but there are still a lot of misconceptions to break down, hopefully, we will get there soon.

I loved this post. Sharing facts is the first way to encourage veganism to those who might not be informed!

As someone who suffers from type II diabetes I can't follow a vegan diet because of the amount of carbohydrate ingested. According to my nutritionist this won't be good in my case.

I would like to add that there are also voices which say the exact opposite:
