Meet Dayleeo, a gal from New Jersey who fell in love with a bloke from England and although they've known each other for quite some time now, she's s this is their very first EVER Valentine's day geographically-together.
Meet @teamhumble. This boy's got some serious logistics planning skills which he orchestrated to perfection WHILE being in making mode for photos and @dtube videos to share with the blockchain. (He never ceases to amaze her...)
After a lovely breakfast, the team decided to take a sweep through the grocery store to plan out their shopping for later in the evening. --Dayleeo noticed an "American NEW YORK Burger Cake" which made her giggle.
Setting off on foot on a cloudy and rainy English day, was a bit precarious, BUT it almost makes those pit stops at small local pubs, sitting around the fire all that more cozy....
Right! First thing's first, a pint of cider and a half pint of lager, and of course, snacks- including honey mustard pretzel bites, a snack that the duo both loved as an after-school, gaming time snack growing up (paired with a Snapple of course)
Snacks were enjoyed and hands were held. The fire popped and crackled and Simple Minds - Don't You (Forget About Me) played in the background. You can't make this stuff up folks!
As cozy and "HYGGE" as their first pit stop was- it wasn't long before our heroes set off once again into the rain, and although it was cold...
Dayleeo was soon warmed with a steak & mushy pea pie, courtesy of the glowing endorsement of @teamhumble
And, BOY did it hit the spot....
The thing was absolutely molten in the middle, and hearty enough to combat the wind and the rain. If there's one thing I'll say about the Brits, They really do know how to cook for the weather.
It wasn't long before they arrived at their next destination, a brewery that's been in operation since the 1800s! An absolutely crazy amount of knowledge was imparted about the brewing process, and TONS of photos and videos were taken. Enough for it's own dedicated post in fact! *HINT HINT!*
They were given neon vests, and stopped for a photo opportunity...
It was fair to say that the excitement was palletable...
And so was the beer tasting at the end... mmmmmm.....
It may not surprise you to hear that after another brisk walk, the pair decided that the best way to kill a bit of time before their dinner reservation....
....was to visit another pub!- (Dayleeo really was never able to say no to a good fire place)
Finally it was time to head to the restaurant! YAYS! (By this time they had done about 13k steps, and had been looking forward to this meal for weeks!)
They knew it was going to be a special one because they had hadan amazing meal Here a little over a month ago!
Orders were placed and now there was nothing left to do but to wait, and stare at each other excitedly...SO. MANY. EXCITES!
'Dayleeo's starter was a Warm Roasted Vegetable Lemon & Harissa Cous Cous Salad... in honesty, she would have been completely happy if a big bowl of that couscous was her whole meal, It was smokey and lemony and had a bit of a chilli, oil kick. SO nice.'
Next, was an oh so fluffy and savory Zucchini, Goat Cheese, & Sweet Potato Frittata, with a Rocket & Roasted Pine Nut Salad which was topped with the most delicious sweet vinaigarette, with the pine nuts, it was HEAVENLY..
Our team didn't realize it until they had arrived at the table, but they ended up ordering the same dessert!-- If you can believe it... it was a LEMON CREME BRULEE served in an adorable teacup, and paired with a brandy snap. Being the overly lemon-obsessed Valentine of the two, Dayleeo was in HEAVEN, but @Teamhumble LOVED his as well. Eyes were rolled into the backs of heads... K.O.
They hit the shop briefly afterward, as planned, and headed home for some relaxing StarTrek before they dosed off into a well-earned sleep after walking nearly 8 miles!

What an awesome day you guys had. I bet it will be one to remember . It was interesting how much you walked to get to your next destination . We don't do much walking around in Tampa Bay. And that dinner look very tasty . Thank for sharing your first Valentines Day with us!!
I know a lot of the year its way too blisteringly hot to be outside, much less walk around Tampa, it was rainy but that's something the Brits seem to have adapted to with warm hearty foods and fireplaces at pubs to warm you up :)

Yeah, I know it rainy and cold over there.. I don't think I could take that kind of weather,, I've been in Florida too long. I would love to make it over there someday . You always have a good blog.. I swing by your page while I'm having my morning coffee.. Kinda like reading the paper!

it really was an intensive all around day. maybe we should have not walked it but we had to do it to get those extra steps on.

Scambi fries are such a quandry to me! How do they taste so much like fish, but are suitable for vegetarians.... HOWWWW!!!

I'm a day or two late, but happy Valentines day you two. It looked like you had a great time. I spent my Valentines day with two gal pals on an all day IKEA trip. Odd, I know, but none of us realized it was Valentines day until we got there. All our signifigants don't care to celebrate the day nor do we, so we celebrated girl furniture and white good shopping! Woot!
I love that America equals either NY or CA and either Hamburger or Hotdogs. That cake looks deadly!
Haha I remember on that show Parks & Recreation they called it Galentines day, which I always loved. We didnt buy eachother anything, but it was important for us to spend some time together and have an experience. The best part is that we were in and out before any of the crows and nonsense.
Just best to do what makes sense for you, and not over do it haha
