Time Option Addition to News Section
As I first started to platform getting a visibility was my biggest problem. I felt like posting stuff to the void. After checking and understanding the system some stuff are more clear to me. It is quite normal for someone with 0 followers to not get any visibility at the beggining. Steemit system is quite suitable for operating like a mainstream social media platform. However only reason it is not acting one right now is low population and the fewer number of stake holders that can make difference.
Social Media Integration Theory
As you can see there are couple of key factors like exposure , connecting , feedback , connecting , sharing to make a social media platform working. I think utopian-oi is a great start for building a strong feedback mechacnism and I don't see any problem in other steps too except Exposure. Most of the people come here to get their content monetized and I think they quit the platform without even grasp the idea of blockchain and the meaning of this website. Eventhough you won't get any likes in any other social media platform I don't see in this problem but there might be some solutions to get people some more visibility.
New Section Problems
As you can see I can only display 6 posts that posted in 22 seconds with simple mathematic you need to scroll down a lot in this segment to discover something. Therefore Curators and Individuals never use this segment for any purpose they work and vote in tag oriented and this type of working style doesn't give users oppurtunity to discover new authors instead of the tags they hang in.
Adding Time Settings to New Segment
When we consider that you get the most rewards for curating between 25-30 Minutes. I thought adding a setting that will give opportunity to the users to display posts that were posted 25-30 Minutes ago in the New Segment. I really think this may help the visibility because when you want to discover something new . Instead of just scrolling down for pages you can just use that feature discover someone new and instantly vote them without using any curation rewards or time. It won't solve the problem of visibility however it may encourage curators to check news segment to discover new people from every tag.

I would loved to request people to visit new tab regularly so that the new users would feel happy and pass on the good words to community. This way steemit can grow and become one of the giant in Social Media
