Bug hunting: Dtube No Compatible Source error
The bug
Can't open any video on dtube, it won't even start loading and I always get this:
"No compatible source was found for this media" error.
How to reproduce
Use Chromium web browser and try to watch any video on Dtube.

Thanks. I have also been experiencing some bugs here on steemit. Yesterday, it was difficult for me to upvote posts. Today, i've been trying to bring noobs into steemit and almost all are experiencing bugs when registering. Hope it all gets smooth soon.
I am using puffun browser and I can see video on Dtube.
Have you tried Mozilla Firefox or Chrome? If it does the with other browsers then it's a bug, else it's a problem of browser.
I have only used chrome browser with my phone to open videos on dtube...

Even on steemit here there is a bug yet to fixed on the wallet

I got the same issue in Chromium. I guess this is because Chromium comes only with the open-source components of Google Chrome. This is why for example Adobe Flash runs natively in Google Chrome, but not in Chromium; in Firefox, which is open-source as well, a separate plugin is needed.
So I guess that the video codec used by dTube is not open-source.
Personally, have not even tried dtube. so, i don't know a single thing about it. Thanks @runicar for sharing this awesome post. Guess its time to give it a shot
