Great feature missing in document viewer

Document viewer is an open source application for viewing different formats of documents. It supports a wide range of file formats such as epub, djv, djvu, cpz amongst others. But surprisingly and disappointingly so not support .doc and .docx (word format).
This is not good enough.

Proposal

I am proposing that the ability to view documents existing in word format (doc and docx) . For an application as good as document viewer, such feature should not be missing as we most times use and read files in word format. This feature should be added.

Benefits

If this proposal is implemented , it will enable that the users to not have to go through stress of converting files to PDF or other formats before it can be viewed using the application.
It will really improve the application and make it more user friendly.
