Suggestion: Add Support For Dtube Videos To The Videolist System For Elgg
Since Dtube is such a promising candidate for a 'Youtube Killer' service, it would be wise to include it in the list of video services supported by the videolist plugin.
Adding Dtube will simply be a case of adding a new file to videolist that checks for the Dtube domain name and which scrapes the page to retrieve the URL of the video file. In the future this may become much easier due to embedding functionality being added to Dtube.
This will help to ensure the elgg framework stays up to date with the latest changes in the video/media streaming world.

Hi @ura-soul, I definitely adhere with this idea. It is a question of incentive. Embedding a video is much more effective than putting a link. So D-tube should make this a priority if their want to be the go-to video platform! So should D-Sound.
As for now, Youtube and Soundcloud have this huge advantage over them, even on Steemit!
The Steemit team is currently consulting their user base before defining the Roadmap 2018, I made the suggestion that they should work with the developers of D-Tube and D-Sound to facilitate their integration on the platform.

And its improving still sometimes the videos don't work for me. Like I say improving now and anything to kill YouTube!
