Direct Messages and Messages feature in Steemit.com

Steemit is an open source blogging and social media website where everyone gets paid for creating and curating content.
Proposal
Just like any other social media such as Twitter, it would be great if Direct message and Messages feature is included in Steemit.com.
Clicking on Direct Message should allow user to send message to the other user and clicking on Messages should list the messages history with name list.

Below example image shows how 'Direct message' and 'Mesaages' can be implemented in steemit.com.

Below image shows how twitter has adopted this feature. On clicking Messages at the top navigation bar below shown image is poped up in twitter.
Benefits
The social interaction can be improved and we can chat with each other. We can send greetings with each other. With this feature added, people will spent more time in steemit.
