New Icon and Logo Design for Slothicorn

Details

Slothicorn is an art community based on Steem Blockchain and is an open-source project that has code at https://github.com/aslothicorn/welcometoslothicorn. Slothicorn was pioneered by several artists who have an extraordinary vision of creativity in the crypto world, they are @stellabelle, @inquiringtimes, and @mikepm74. Up to now more than 350 registered members in this community.

Slothicorn has a mission to campaign cryptocurrency through art and educate artists in the crypto economy. In Steemit, @slothicorn actively promotes and supports the work of artists who are original works licensed under "All Right Reserved" or "Creative Commons".

After growing rapidly to date, the officials of @slothicorn decided to do a rebrand on their logo. To achieve this then @slothicorn held a contest that runs quite fierce in Steemit. Until the contest ends, finally my logo design is declared the first place winner as stated in the following announcement https://steemit.com/slothicorn-logo/@slothicorn/winners-of-official-slothicorn-logo-contest.

To initiate the source files handover as an official contribution to an open-source project the @slothicorn administrator invited me to make a contribution through Utopian.

In order to rebrand, @slothicorn ask for some items to be made, namely:

• Footer Design

Below is the details of the work made vector based using CorelDraw X7.

Icon

Icons are a symbol that can represent the characteristics of something including a community or company through the visual form of processing elements of design. Or commonly called a logogram or logomark.

The icon I created for Slothicorn is inspired by the words "sloth" and "icorn". Then I visualize it into a simple form that represents the word. Sloth is a primate animal species that has unique characteristics, tend to be cute and plain. Icorn is another name for the Unicorn's horn, a mythical animal embodied a white horse that has a funnel-shaped horn on its forehead. Then I made some color versions of the following icons.

Logo

Slothicorn expects a more modern and futuristic image on his new logo. For that I designed a sans-serif typeface that has a strong stroke, firm, but youthful and contemporary. In order to impress futuristic then I do trim on some strokes on some letters. Then I apply 4 colors representing diversity in art and crypto world, ie white, magenta, cyan, and yellow.

Profile Banner

In the era of social media, profile banner becomes an important item as the face and identity of an account. In making this item, I used letters on the typeface that I had created on the Slothicorn logo.

Footer

Simply put, I designed a footer containing advanced information about a Slothicorn account that viewers can follow, including Steemit, Twiiter, Discord Server, and Official Website.

Tools

To make all the items above, I use CorelDraw X7, vector-based graphics processing software. Below is a screenshot of the designing process as proof of the work that this work is original.

As proof that this contribute is made based on the request of Project Owner then below is proof that the rendered file has been used by Project Owner for the benefit of rebranding. This contribution is made to the process of handover of source files and proofs of work that are not included in the contest.
