Steemifier, the browser extension to monetize your YouTube content and interact with your Steem community
What is the project about?
Steemifier is a 100% free browser extension (Chrome, Firefox, Opera) that allows the YouTube users to interact with the Steem blockchain directly from the YouTube website:
the YouTube content creators can:
- add their videos/lives to the Steem blockchain (only if they are the owner of the video)
- reply to the comments left on their videos
- see details about the votes received on a video
the YouTube viewers can:
- upvote a video
- comment a video
- follow the creator

Technology Stack
- JavaScript
- SteemConnect: to allow the users to add their videos, upvote, comment, follow
- YouTube API: to get the videos metadata and to check the ownership of a video (during the add process)
- ServerLess backend hosted on Amazon AWS via Lambdas
Roadmap
For now, only the "Watch page" on YouTube is Steemifier ready, I would like to make other pages available to the users (YouTube home page showing the videos "Steemifier Ready", add some pages to show the Hot, Trending and the new videos that are "Steemifier Ready").
After YouTube I would like to make other websites available in the browser extension...

Interesting, how will that help people outside Steem to discover it?
Basically, people to use this extension will have to create a Steem account so this how they are going to first discover Steem.
Now, how they are going to find out that this kind of app exists... I haven't totally defined that yet, I have a couple of YouTubers to whom I'd like to present the project and that are not into Steem/crypto at all.
When I started the development of this extension, I didn't really think about the promotion of it (I'm first a developer... :)), this project was mainly for me to discover the possibilities offered by this blockchain and the web development on my free time.
Now, all suggestions are welcome as this app is "your app as well", it doesn't belong to any company and also if this app shows a real interests then I want it to fit the needs of the users or potential users.

Well good job if it really worked, I'm a developper too, but didn't find the courage and time yet to do something like this so good that you achieved it ;)
For the promotion, I think you must provide some kind of guidance to new comers, such as a good post explaining what is Steem, maybe also a community to join based on their interest so that they can be coached in joining Steem, because joining through Steemit takes forever to have your account created at the moment.
Steem Invite is a better option, but ideally they need someone to lend them some SP to start on the good foot otherwise they won't see the potential.

Indeed the newbies will most likely need a guidance, I could integrate a FAQ that redirect to some good beginner posts on Steemit/Busy
Lend SP to the new users is a good idea though you need to find this SP (and this project doesn't really have a business model that will make it grow financially as everything is completely free)
However, that's still a good idea, thanks for the suggestions!
I would suggest, that you try to find a welcome minnow service / witness that have interest in bringin more people on STeem and is willing to take the professionnal bloggers with let's say more than 500 subscribers under their wing so that they can in turn ask their fanbase to join.
This can have a great potential, so I'm sure someone somewhere have big interest in that.
I know TeamSteem is a Witness working toward that goal in Canada and the French community. So he must have contacts to support your project.
There is tons of SP out there and Witnesses are there to support projects they thing can grow the community. You must just sell your project to the good people. And think about promoting your extention on some well known youtubers and if they have a god experience in joining Steem work of mouth to ears will do a good enough jobs as maybe content creators become friends between each other on YouTube when they become popular enough.
