Suggestion: adding 'History' menu to the Audacity software.

Audacity software is a great open source software for recording audio editing and digital but it can be improved upon.
Proposal
I love and use the audacity software. Recently, a friend of mine got access to my system and mistakingly closed all the recordings I did on audacity software and have not saved or exported. I felt really bad and I knew that I could do something about it to save other users from feeling the same pain that I felt from that experience.
I would want to propose that a history menu be added to the audacity software such that a user can search through to get access to all his/her previous recordings except the ones he/she deletes from the history menu. This would enable users to be able to get back previous recordings especially when the recordings were closed by mistake.

I am suggesting that the software look like the image below with ‘History’ as a menu from which users can search for their previous recordings and delete the ones that they don’t need anymore.
Benefits
Implementing this suggestion has the following benefits:
a. It would save users some pain expecially when their recordings were closed by mistake and this is possible.
It would increase how users stick to the software.
b. It would increase the credibility of the software.
c. I hope this suggestion is considered favourably.
