Brupvoter Bot: New Features for our bidders

in #utopian-io6 years ago

Hi all followers that use @brupvoter bid-based voting bot service!

I just like to announce a new feature that we started testing in @brupvoter bot. This feature was a request from the #pt community based on the fact that bid-based bots give high negative ROI some times.

So, after coding a little bit, the @brupvoter bot was configured to have a minimum positive ROI(*) of 1% and a maximum positive ROI of 10%.

Limiting the negative ROI (or setup a minimum positive ROI) was a feature developed by @yabapmatt. Based on this feature I proposed and developed the maximum positive ROI limit feature. The @brupvoter bot is already testing this feature and we are waiting for @yabapmatt to merge this feature in the original postpromoter code, if he finds that it is a good contribution, of course.

I agree with @yabapmatt's opinion that "voting bots should not be used to directly profit off of the value of their vote, but instead should be used to gain visibility for posts which leads to a much larger ROI (for good posts) from increased followers and organic upvotes." So, these two features were set based on that belief.

(*) Remember that the ROI calculation is an estimate calculated in the voting time. So, it may be different from the value at the moment of the reward claim.

Please, give your opinion about this new features if you are a @brupvoter bidder.

Thank you!

Sun Mar 04 2018 17:07:09 GMT+0000 (UTC) - Refund of 1.18 SBD sent to @steemiansbank for reason: round_full
Sun Mar 04 2018 19:02:12 GMT+0000 (UTC) - Refund of 0.1 SBD sent to @shyrybovich for reason: round_full

Sun Mar 04 2018 21:30:54 GMT+0000 (UTC) - Refund of 0.5 SBD sent to @neopch for reason: round_full

WE did not cheating any one. The bottracker did not update its code to support a new feature of the postpromoter bot code, which we implemented and was merged by @yabapmatt. Our bot gives a minumum 1% of ROI (so, negative ROI free) and a maximum of 10% ROI. So, if at the end of the current round the ROI is above 10% the bot will set a weight vote to fix the ROI in 10%. What happens is that steembotttracker shows the ROI at 100% of vote weight and because of the 10% ROI limit the weight may be less than 100% and this decreases the weight for each post being voted in that round. For instance, in your case, the weight informed by steembottracker is +11% and the real weight, is in fact, +5.98%, giving an estimate 10% of ROI. So you will get (estimated) 10% of return after your post is 7 day old. This feature is informed in our steemit page header and also in the post (which the link is also in its header).

Also, I have already informed @yabapmatt that bug and I think he will fix it as soon as possible.

Any way I appologise my self for the confusion we may have done.

Please, If you have any doubts, contact me at discordapp my account there is "brupvoter".

Best regards,
@brupvoter team.

Great one!
Hope that more bots will merge the new features you developed. I'm also running a bot myself and I'll be happy to see more features coming in ;)

Thank you. Open source is the path for a success community!

Wow it is great to introducing new features .

Hello,
I think you are not giving what you promise!
I have sent 2 SBD to @brupvoter, and I have received only a 3,77 sbd vote.
To have a 1% profit after curation, you should have sent at least 5,32 sdb
You should change what you advertise because people are getting bad information, and taking bad decisions with it

Hello. Just to make things clear.

  1. You received an upvote weight of 90.91% at Thu Mar 15 2018 04:21:42 GMT+0000 (UTC);
  2. That means an upvote with a value of $3. 71 (you can check at: https://steemworld.org/@cryp2me);
  3. The '$' unit mentioned in the item '2' means "post rewards", so it is not USD, not STEEM, not SBD. It is just "post rewards";
  4. So, your ROI for that round is more than 8%, as shown in the calculations in the figure bellow.

So, please. Ask for more information instead of just saying I am not giving what I promise.
Also, one needs to know that all these calculations are estimates, because the real value of the upvote will only be known after the post is 7 day old.

Best Regards, @brupvoter team.

Ok thank you for your explanation @rodrigomf.
But I think I still do not understand it all..

  • Why do you calculate the ROI in STEEM when the bid was done in SBD?
  • I don´t understand what is the "Vote Reward Unit", it is new for me! I thought rewards were SBD too.. Where can I learn about it? I have not found it in Steemit.

I earned upvote worth 7.86% and you upvoted me 5.36%, this is happening repeatedly now, kindly refund me extra money or just upvote another post of mine with remaining percentage.. this is cheating ice_screenshot_20180319-002834.png

Sir, just to make it more clear... We did NOT cheat any one. The fact as I told you in the firs reply is that bottracker did not update its code to support a new feature of the postpromoter bot code, which we implemented and was merged by @yabapmatt. I will explain better this new feature: our bot gives a minumum 1% of ROI (so, negative ROI free) and a maximum of 10% ROI. For instance, in your case, the weight informed by steembottracker is +7.86% and the real weight, is in fact, +5.36%, giving an estimate 10% of ROI. It means that you will get about 10% of return (estimated) after your post is 7 day old. This feature is informed in our steemit page header and also in the post (which the link is also in its header).

Also, as I told you, I have implemented a fix for this bug, and I also asked yabapmat to commit it. But due lack of time he did not commit it yet.

Any way I appologise my self for the confusion we may have done.

Best regards, @brupvoter team
