The price of my country's currency (Brazilian Real) has been dropping a lot in relation to the USD lately, and I'd rather not make any international credit card purchases in USD right now... I think I'll just get the normal starter pack.
The price shows as 5 USD on the official site when logged in. When not logged in, it shows as 10 USD (that includes a STEEM account creation).
Fair enough! That makes a lot of sense. Inflation sucks!
Inflation is actually rather stable... or so they say (Brazil has definitely seen worse times, though). But there's a combination of internal economy problems, plus the aftermath of a truck drivers strike a few months ago that practically paralyzed the whole country and worsened said economy problems, and also external factors like the side effects of the recent happenings in other emerging markets like Argentina and Turkey, among other things. And then, one of the most worrying factors over here at the moment is that this year is presidential election year, and is proving to be the most uncertain presidential election year ever. I'm hoping the markets will calm down and the BRL prices will recover after elections...
Yeah the EM currency shocks are quite scary I can imagine with so much of the debt in, like your examples of Argentina and Turkey, being denominated in currencies they don't have control over. I hope that the currencies stabilize soon for the sake of the people.
