Ulog 37: Keep munching, my boy!
It is weird to most mommies to say "Yay, he eats today!" when your child is already 5 years old. Not to me. I say this many times in a year.
Jansen started learning to chew and swallow at 3 years old, after he was off from his biPAP breathing machine. Ever since then, he improved alot, although the disadvantage is he never eats enough hence the drop in weight and a weight which takes sooooo long to increase. A good news if that is in my case because I wish for a slimmer body.
Soon, he will be 5 years old, in 2 months time and we cannot be more proud of his progress in eating. If he does not experience the cyclic discomfort, he would have been more plump by today. But, I will not talk about that, as it remains a mystery to us and doctors. Only God can help.
Today, we brought him out to celebrate his grandpa's birthday and we went for pork ribs. Watching him biting off the meat and munching the bones was a tremendous joy. 2 years ago, we could not imagine that this day was possible. He proved to us it is possible. He can eat! He can swallow safely.
So now, we know, besides chicken drumsticks, he loves pork ribs too!!!
Cheers to more years of eating. And weight, please gain weight, as he is still the size of 3 years old. People are amazed why he can talk so well because they thought he is 3 years old but the truth is he is almost 5 years old now.

Loving that pic. can't go wrong with ribs. My boys are so chubby, they take so looong to eat but their mom makes sure they eat it all. hey would rather eat snacks than real food lol

i know exactly what you mean.
sometimes when mommas struggle with disorders of their children - it seems like we take joy in the oddest things! but .... it's because our lives are different
when my son was very young - he rarely cried. he did for a time - and then - he stopped. and didnt cry again for a long time
and my friends would say - Oh be thankful that your son doesn't cry - because who wants that all day? my daughter/son cries all the time! it makes me crazy.
but.... i knew that if my son was crying, he was understanding emotions, and able to express them naturally.
we had to teach him all his emotions - or else, he would just sit like a beautiful little angel with no emotions on his face at all - like he was carved from marble.
so - HOORAY for your son eating pork ribs and chicken drumsticks!!!!
