Information to pass along and some thinking outloud ideas
A train goes through the center of town all day long and half the night. Not something you see around anymore.
I spent most of the day so far on the phone. The amount of coordination required is incredible. There are times when we just have to do what is required no matter the circumstances. The events are never planned and we are never really prepared to deal with them no matter what they are. Because of this well will suffer or pay for them in the short term. I don't know about coming out on the other side makes us stronger. What I do know is that it does give us the experience for future events that my arise.
I would like to take this time to welcome @legendchew to the level of Minnow. I saw in the Redfish power up League hosted by our witness @paulag (@steemcommunity) Where he achieved the level and will forever be on the Wall Of Fame. For most of us it is a long road to this level and takes a bit of time.
I have been stressing this level for some time. I feel that Minnows are the backbone of the platform and can direct the platform in a positive manner. This level needs to increase in numbers. It is the start of the middle class. The lower end of it but at least you are no longer on welfare and need the helping hand of others, so to speak. The amount of people below 100 SP is well disproportionately to larger Minnows and above creating a hole in the support.
Today @abh12345 put out a post on Steemfest Nov 2018. It is a good thing to attend if you are able. The earlier you make reservation the less expensive it will be.
I would be remiss if I did not talk about flagging and phishing. there is a lot of it going around. for the most part you don't have to worry to much about it if you take the right steps.

The Steemit defense league is more of a nuisance then anything else. Their weight and SP can't hurt you, but I do understand the emotions that come with a flag.

I have heard some disgruntled steamians who have been complain about the lack of the level of support form whales, orcas, dolphins and witness. My question is simple, How do you know ? Everywhere I look I can see their fingerprints all over the platform. I see them giving support to many redfish. Through direct voting on their posts or the contests and programs they support. Before you start throwing rocks at them look at the glass house you live in. Or the amount of time they give to the platform. Most people don't come close to a tenth of their time they spend here. I am not saying that all of them are great steemians, there will always be a percentage of people who are takers no matter where you are at.
Broaden your reach and look closely. Not just on your reward but the whole picture. This has always been a percentage game. But then again so is life.
This has taken me way longer then I intended. The amount of interruption were to many to keep track of. And my train of thought was interrupted to many times. Multi tasking how fun is it ?

Several good things that I heard today...........
Steemfest 3 is within my reach because I am already in Poland. I also might be able to achieve my 200 SP target by the end of month( I am aiming for 500 SP by September and 1000SP by end of this year). Oh and before I forget @bearbear613's wife is having a baby :-)
As for the bad news................. there is always bad news lets concentrate on the good...
Your on target and it is nice to hit the 200 mark by the end of the month.
If you can make it Steemfest would be nice even if its only for one day

I agree with your comments on whales/minnows. My experience has been that whales are very supportive. But they've been here on Steemit long enough that they know how to detect great content from average content. My advice to minnows/plankton is to learn what it takes to produce the absolute best content possible. Most people can do better. It's just a matter of discipline. Head to some Discord groups, like @Promo-Mentors and @steemitbloggers and learn how the pros write and lay out their posts. Dedicate yourself to improving, be social and comment on others' posts a lot, and you'll see it pay off in the long run. Be patient.

Steemfest sounds awesome - I would love to go, but have to wait and see.

The leagues are very important for people to grow and engage. They also provide information that they would not normally get
Hey. Thanks for spreading the messsge about phishing. There have been plenty of opinions about this platform. I surround myself with good people and positivity. Seems like you are doing the same with your group of friends. We continue to support each other and grow. Asher made a very good point on one of his posts about minnows not forgetting to look up as well. We do what we can and help others along the way when we can.

Phishing, scams, and using the posting key instead of your owners key seems to be a subject that needs to be discussed every couple of weeks.
I am still trying to find that balance between supporting myself and others. Its a hard thing to figure out.
There is no magic bullet answer. So I will keep plugging away.
I am all phished out with talking about the subject. Three posts on the subject matter is max for me. Keep plugging away. That is all any of us can really do.
I have way to many redfish that follow me not to put something out every month or two about it.
If posting keys were used more there would not be such a big problem.
There should be a pinned message board by steemit inc. You would think some questions like this would be readily available for users to access. Good for you @wolfhart for sharing your knowledge with others. I try to as well if there is a compelling reason for me to write a post. Challenging part is finding the time to write, most recent phisihing sh*tpost excluded.
The FAQ needs to be updated and cover way more then it does. Its so hard to find information here and I seem to be repeating my self over and over. The last couple of day my posting has suffered. along with engagement. I seem to have to make bullet comments just to keep up.
But then again I would not have it any other way
There are many channels on Discord. They support minnows in different ways such as arranging contest, giving free upvote, sharing tips about how to do better on steemit and so on.
Now you cannot feel alone because a lot of people are beside you. :)
That is true. Its all up to each and everyone of us to reach out and not sick back and wait to earn something we did not achieve or put effort into

It seems easier to throw rocks than to look at our own faults and doings. Maybe someday that would go down.. .but then again we live in a world where there's no telling.

Multitasking is an issue for everyone. We all can take on to much. I agree people are to quick to point out others without any understanding.

I have a hard time keeping up with what I have. So I know the big fish have more on their plate and a greater challange.
