How will you feel if you are in an acquaintance party ready to mingle and make friends with new people but suddenly you saw someone who feels like he is the main attraction of the said party? He is so over confident that he feels like the party will not be lively without his presence; or are you that kind of person who always make it a point to be the center of attraction in every event that you join?

How will you feel if you and your friends are eating in a fastfood restaurant when all of you are happy talking about your day's experience and when it is your turn to tell your story, your friends block what you are about to say by judging you with what you just told them halfway and even worse, you turned out to be bullied by them instead of giving you the time to brag a little with something about yourself; or are you the type of a friend who bullies someone and doesn't wait for your friend to finish what he or she ought to say and judging him or her and throwing some nasty jokes over him or her?

What will you feel if you have a boss who would always scold you of the things that he considers your mistake or shortcomings without even asking you a word to explain your side about the said issue; or are you that type of a boss who always make your subordinates keep their mouth shut?

Yes, as human beings we are given by God the gift of voice and intelligence to develop a communication more superior than any living things on earth, we are always happy to let others know our accomplishments, our achievements, the things that we are proud of, or even the sorrows and pain that we are experiencing from time to time.

Unfortunately, we sometimes or shall I say, we oftenly neglect to remember that God also gave us the gift of sense of hearing to let us have the ability to listen to others. It is sad to say that we failed to develop this valuable skill-- the art of listening; instead, we developed to ourselves the negative traits of being self-centered, of using our energy to compete with others, of setting our minds to be always on top over others and the most painful of all, is that we mostly develop strategies that will make us achieve success that we are aiming for ourselves at the cost of other people's misfortune.

I am not saying that aiming for success is a sin. What I want to say is that, what will be the value of the success that you accomplished when others suffered because of the things that you did that directly or indirectly affect others leading them to failure?

Will you be happy seeing others in pain while you are on top of them? Well I know that you know the answer but the reality is that sometimes we are happy to watch the misfortune of others but we get jealous when we feel that other humans achieved the "standard" of success that we want for ourselves. We get bitter emotions when we found out that people around us reached first the supposedly "dream" for ourselves.

Why can't we reverse our feelings towards this issue? Why can't we be happy for people who achieve their goals in a good way? Why can't we be more sensitive and emphatize with others who are in the brink of failure and do our best no matter how little it is to help that person cope from sorrow and pain and heartaches?

I am imagining a world where all our minds have been reset to the time when we are all concern with the welfare of each other. A world where all of us have developed the skill of listening not only with our sense of hearing but with our pure heart that has a noble intention.

I am imagining a world where we are listening more than we talk for ourselves. A world where everyone can express their emotions without interruptions but at the same time everyone has the eagerness to listen to each others voices and never judge others right away. This world maybe more wonderful than what we expect it to be, isn't it?

It is of my fervent hope that after you read this blog of mine, dear #steemians, we will all start to change our perspective towards each other. I really wish that humanity, as the most intelligent being living in this wonderful world, will start, little by little to develop the habit of listening more towards others and talking less for ourselves just for the purpose of lifting up our self-centered pride.

"Life, will surely be beautiful and wonderful if we have one good heart that can attentively listen to each other's story of love and kindness". -@nantzjbalayo
