Ulog Diary #53 : A Weekend Market and A Cookbook
Weekends are usually for taking early morning walks and having healthy and delicious food in weekend markets.
This weekend, we explored another market to check out their food selection and their playground (for our daughter). Turns out, the day we went to was the 14th anniversary of the market.
We were greeted with yellow balloons and other decorations thought of by the owners (mostly yellow) displayed at the booths. The area on this market was bigger than the one we usually go to every weekend. The crowd in here was also less than the other one. I think the fact that it was their anniversary and they arranged the stalls well that day and that the sky was a bit gloomy were also a couple reasons why.
The selection of goods inside the market were not just limted to food (homecooked, grilled, salads, fruit shakes, etc.). The market also offered fresh fruits and vegetables. Yes. Fresh plants and flowers too.

We also came across a stall selling budbud, a type of rice cake. There were a lot of types of budbud being sold at that particular stall (the names I can't remember) but I went for a chocolate one; partly because I was craving for it for a while now and mostly because it reminded me of the free chocolate budbud I always get back in college.
We were looking for something unusual (just to try) and didn't want anything too heavy for an early morning so we bought a Bao's on Crack (oven roasted pork belly with Asian barbecue sauce and sriracha mayo), the best-seller of a Thai stall inside.

Our morning at the market concluded with some play time at the park (much to our daughter's enjoyment).
The best part of my morning however was because of the free recipe book that the market organizers were giving that morning for their anniversary. Sweet isn't it?
