"Himu" is a fantastic book written by Humayun Ahmed. I will share some lines from the book "A few blue lotuses in Himu's hand" from the "Himu" series, which I liked very much.

In these lines, a character has given some great examples to explain the first condition of becoming a great man. The lines are on page 415 of the book.

The lines are-

'What is the first condition of becoming a great man?'

Sir Asadullah stands up. He starts stating the conditions of becoming a great man. His voice is heavy and serious. There is a slight echo. It seems like he is speaking from inside a cave in the mountain-

Great men of each era are different. Great men have to keep pace with the era. The time of Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him) was the era of magic. Great magicians used to show their strange magic. So, in that era, great men were sent as magicians. Hazrat Musa had extraordinary magical powers. If he threw his staff, it would turn into a snake. Those snakes would eat the snakes of other magicians.

Hazrat Yusuf's time was one of beauty. Beauty was highly valued at that time. Hazrat Yusuf was sent as a man of incredible beauty.

Hazrat Isa (peace be upon him) was the era of medicine. Various types of medicines were released at that time. Therefore, Hazrat Isa was sent as an extraordinary physician. He could cure blindness. He could give the mute the power to speak.
