My oldest son mentioned that since the recent florida school shooting their classrooms are locked and they aren't allowed to leave for any reason.

They are no longer allowed to congregate and talk for a few minutes between classes.

In short, his "high school" is now much more comparable to a prison than it was previously.

He asked me why such things are happening and I gave him my honest opinion...

IMNSHO, the reason for a rise in school shootings has to do with the schools themselves.

Children that attend public schools ( Mine do... as my first wife gets to decide whether or not my biological children attend such and my second wife gets to decide whether hers do or not ) are subjected to massive cognitive dissonance. They are told that they live in a free country but at every turn they are told what to do, how to do it, how often to do it, when to start, when to stop, and basically treated as prisoners while their minds are con-formed to the ideal submissive submitizen.

Teenage rebellion is simply the state of growing enough of a brain to see the clear cracks in the wall... and realizing that they lack any freedom whatsoever.

That is bad enough. Now stack on year after year of abuse from your fellow students and eventually you will snap.

And when you snap because you feel completely powerless and ashamed and want to get back at those that constantly oppress you... and don't have the necessary mental framework to see what is actually happen... then chances are good that you might well decide to end your own life by taking the lives of those that have made you feel like nothing at all.

Public Schools are nothing more than government subservient citizen training camps.

Our Children are simply young people that lack our life experience. As people they have the same rights we do... which are basically no rights at all unless they happen to have at least one anarchist in their home to teach them that they are people and they have rights and that you will always support them (and their decisions) unless they are abusing or violating the rights of others.

If you really want to end school shootings you have to end government control of schools.

Do yourselves a favor and read up on the "Modern School" movement.

I'm still trying to convince my wife to let me teach our children (and I'm trying to raise the funds necessary to start a real school that treats children as real people and helps them learn what they want when they are ready to learn it...)

People calling themselves "the government" know full well that the children are the future. By violating them early and often and training them to be slaves (er... good submitizens) they ensure their own lack of need to actually work.

The best way to ensure that YOUR children are not victims of the logical result of forced brain washing is to pull them out of public schools and teach them the basics of individual liberty.

More government is not the answer to too much government.
