The Push for Decentralization

I was reading a few posts this morning, as is my daily routine, and I came across a lot of ideas and concerns related to Steemit, Inc.

I've said this before, but I feel that it needs to be reiterated. It probably needs to be reiterated more than 2, 6, and 50 times.

Many people seem to be misunderstanding.

The idea behind decentralizing the Steem blockchain further is something that absolutely must happen over the coming 12 months, in my opinion and in the opinions of many others here on the Steem blockchain.

We must break free of our reliance on the Steem,Inc team to deliver development, updates, funding, delegation, etc.

DApps must create their own economically viable infrastructures.

Dev teams must contribute to the Steem blockchain and somehow be rewarded for their contribution. By the way, what better place to reward community sourced development than on the Steem blockchain? We can collectively reward developers like no other blockchain because of our ability to upvote, delegate SP, instantly and freely transfer STEEM, fundition, Utopian....

What else do we need other than the current mechanisms we have?
