Can we unite the world?

This is a very good question.

The question is phrased - can 'YOU' unite the world?
It speaks to the individual - it speaks to 'ME'

Here's my honest response, can I unite the world?

I believe I can unite the world

OK how then?

It's a bit of a paradox. Here we are talking about the individual, what power does the individual really have? Fundamentally we only have power over our internal environment, we can't actually guarantee that other people and outside things will do what we want. Those outside things will all act according to their own nature.

Many people will create a lofty idea and believe that they can change the world by getting everyone to dance to their tune. There is a belief that through manipulating physical things, persuasion, and sometimes force - that everything will behave according to our wishes. This is basically the mind on an ego trip, it requires massive effort and it can't be sustained. Changes which aren't made on a very deep level will never last.

To directly unite the world simply isn't possible - we can't unite the world by using some new system. It can't be top down, that is exactly what we are outgrowing right now. Leaders are good and helpful, but leaders are only helpful in their capacity to empower everyone else. This is a real leader, not the modern day political model of a figurehead to mask the deception and control.

We can influence the outcome, but not by directly telling people what to do. Instead we have to embody a consciousness so profound that everyone around us can't help but be transformed by it. This is the new age paradox, we all feel this deep need to unify the world, yet we keep forgetting we have to unify ourselves individually first. In fact unifying ourselves is the only real option we have, the rest is an attractive delusion.

It has to happen organically, because we are all individuals - the crucial component of our experience here is our free will and right to decide how we do things. The fact that so many people just do what they are told is not a mark of maturity. It's a mark of our stagnation as a species and as a planet.

Moving forward into unity, it can't be done on the basis of some system that dictates the lives of everyone - it must be a revolution from within - it must be a revolution of consciousness. It must be a natural choice for everyone involved. You might think that unity would be a natural choice for us, and I agree. Unfortunately there is a lot of fear consciousness currently activated and believed in - and it obscures our wide picture view of things.

Fear makes us small and afraid, and only concerned about what we can do for ourselves. Fear is the opposite of unity, because unity seeks to go beyond it's boundaries and find connection and commonality with everything. With a sense of connection to everything else, we will no longer tolerate any exploitation of any one or any thing. This is not currently how human beings are living. It's to do with our systems, but fundamentally it's to do with consciousness.

despite all of this, I still feel that I can unite the world

This is because there are some metaphysical mechanisms that work in our favour. We can get an astounding amount done by aligning ourselves with the real and perceivable laws of nature, what you might call the laws of the universe. The fundamental urge of the universe is for growth and expansion - it's for evolution. This is good because moving into unity is definitely an evolution, our segregated way of doing things is terrifically ineffective - and we can evolve through it and beyond it.

We are all part of a collective consciousness, which affects how we think, feel, and act. What most people don't realize is that we can also affect the collective consciousness, the current flows both ways. It takes a certain attitude to be able to understand this and then live in a way which feeds into the collective, rather than fulfill our personal (mind based) need for gratification.

Through living in righteous ways we can unify the world. By bringing more of the spiritual into your life you do a little, by being part of a conscious community you do a lot. By throwing your whole life into the fire of transformation, and coming out as a shining new being - you ripple outwards in an inconceivably powerful way.

As an individual we can decide what we input into the collective consciousness. Another way of saying this is that we emit light through our actions, choices, thoughts, emotions, and ways of being. It reverberates and resonates outward - affecting many things in both known and unknown ways.

There's a quote that's been attributed to Lao Zi which goes something like:

"the greatest gift you can give to the world is that of your own transformation"

It's exactly like this, you are a microcosm of everything. So if you set things right in yourself in a big way, then it very naturally helps to set things right in everything else you touch. I'm not naive to think that it only takes one individual to unite a global population of many billions of beings, yet the power of higher consciousness is such that it only requires a certain threshold. This might be one in every hundred people living in a profoundly connected way, it might be as low as one in every thousand.

We don't know the figures because we are moving into unchartered territory, a planet which is birthing itself into unity from a fearful state of control and division. This is global ascension, it's happening, and it happens because of the consciousness that we choose to embody and integrate into our lives.

I started by addressing the question as it was pitched - "can I unite the world?" Yes I can, through embodying a consciousness of unity. The singular "I" in me says that he can, although as I have said it needs to come from a deeper place than that. It needs to come from the core of my being.

So I answer from the "I", although living from a unified state might very well mean thinking more and more in terms of 'we', as we naturally seek to include everything and everyone else into our decisions and actions. We become one, unified in our diversity, cohesive like the cells of an organism. We are an enormous entity figuring out how to put its self together, surely this is the most profound task available to us right now.
