If Microchip were as smart as he's being given credit for, then why not suggest Q is sucking people dry of hope, of time, of prayers—of something relatively tangible or personal?
An appeal to emotion rather than attempting to appeal to the wallets—of which a majority of Q observers have probably never opened to any Q decoders—would be considerably more effective.
