The Old Dog Presents: Tree Tuesday, Beautiful in Death.

in #treetuesday6 years ago (edited)

I came across this log a few weeks ago. A majestic tree, cut down in its prime! Its crime? Who knows? It was left to rot on the forest floor and yet I found beauty when examining it in its decaying state.

There is so much to look at here!

  • The checks and cracks radiating out from its core.
  • The growth rings which tell a tale of age and the amount of rain in a given year.
  • The darker hue of the outer rings.
  • The rough texture of the remaining bark.
  • The moss which is taking its grip on it.
  • The termite holes which have penetrated the area of the peeled bark.

This King of the forest is beautiful and majestic in its death state. The poor beautiful creature still so wonderful when you take the time to look!

Thanks for following me on my travels and I look forward to sharing my adventures with you.

 Until next time,

@kus-knee,
I like the topic you used here! It's death but beautiful! Great photography and having a great meaning! Just imagine if this tree was not dead at that time, how beautiful it is!

Cheers~

This is for you.... made in Tuscany some month ago ;D

Lovely! Is that a heart? I think so!

What I like most about your photography is that the photos you chose really DO illustrate the topic. So many others just choose random pictures that may or may not fit.

Happy #treetuesday

I love your photo!

Indeed God's artistry molding and texturing the log as he does you and me into something beautiful for all to know and enjoy. There are both the natural and spiritual elements here at work. There is someone I know who does mundane art exhibition for whom this would work nicely. Thanks @kus-knee.

Hahaha yes I know him too!

Why would anyone cut down a tree and leave it in the forest? I don't understand that.
On the other hand those rings look great! I saw something similar today but that tree was still standing, only one branch was cut and the rings were visible.

Yes I don’t know why it was cut down.

your tree tuesday photography really very fantastic.specially this picture you capture very perfect style.its so beautifull.this is a amazing wood art and its great such history of forest world.thanks to sharing always great quality creativity post..my dear friend.. @kus-knee.i hope that you are better..may god bless you..dear..

Wow very wonderful tree art photography sir.your everyday post is very important. I like it your great full photography post sir. thank you so much @kus-knee

It really is sad... We see it often here. Some folks are ready to cut down every tree and pave the world!

"They paved paradise and put up a parking lot"

That photograph reminds me of the shape of an alpine horn @kus-knee. 😊

Now that you mention it.

@ kus-knee people never stop surprising us with their aberrations towards nature, still not enteineden that is a good not renobable
What a beautiful giant lies on the ground, how much beauty can be appreciated if one observes it
Thank you very much for letting us know this beautiful image
I wish you a great day

Yes we need to look and ponder!
