The Castle of Galeazza - Crevalcore - Bologna

Hello friends! How are you? I hope you had a wonderful weekend, I enjoyed participating in a beautiful experience very educational and very interesting inside a castle that is not always open to the public, this castle is private, so being private it is not always open to the public for guided tours and I was very lucky because I was able to participate in one of these visits.

It is the Galeazza Castle, certainly not a famous castle in Italy, probably many of you have heard little about this castle, which is located in the hamlet of Galeazza in the municipality of Crevalcore practically we are in the province of Bologna in Emilia Romagna.

The castle has a very interesting history In my opinion, it practically arose where a sighting actor stood in 1379 and practically a famous leader of the time Galeazzo Pepoli wanted to buy these lands because he wanted to build his home and retire from the life of a leader but live a simpler and quieter life with his wife.

So he built or rather expanded this castle, But then after him the castle went through a period of total decline when in 1870 it was purchased by Alessandro Falzoni Gallarani, an intellectual and banker who lived nearby, who practically transformed it into a luxury summer residence, transforming it more than anything into a neo-Gothic castle as you can also see from the photos.

It was a very interesting visit because it also made us understand and see the value of the restoration that was carried out on this castle which, as I was telling you, was purchased by an architect and now every now and then it is open and can be visited by people through these guided tours.

But above all it made me understand the beauty of this place, especially the Anna tower that was built in honor of his wife and their symbol of love, from which you can admire a beautiful 360 degree panorama, you can see the Apennines but also the Alps on clear days.

Visiting this place also made me daydream a little, imagine the life that could be inside these instances of this castle and how many people have passed through here.

Among other things, I also asked the guide if there is any story related to some ghost that still wanders inside this castle, and he told me that practically in the past there had been a domestic accident with the accidental fall of a little girl and probably on some nights you hear these moans that seem to be of a little girl, a story that really gave me the shivers.
