The Government sees self-sufficiency in food production as very important, as they want to prevent any food shortages in the near future. It is part of the “Juche” concept that Kim Il-sung introduced, which includes self-sufficiency in almost every aspect of the economy.

Yingxian Wooden Pagoda of Datong

Looking at the Wooden Pagoda, it looks like it only has 5 stories. In actuality, it has 9 but more impressive is that not a single nail was used to build this pagoda just a series of interlocking brackets (54 different types, apparently)!
