SteemXP Christmas Gathering in Kokol Hill Sabah (Part 1)
Hello Steemians, last Saturday SteemXP organized an early Christmas Gathering in Kokol Hill Kota Kinabalu Sabah and unexpected we have quite a numbers of steemians who joined and at the same time we brought our family gather together.
Where is Kokol?
Kokol Hill is located only an estimated 1 hour drive from the city and sits on the Crocker Range that had a best view of Mount Kinabalu and sunset view on the east side.
Directions
Driving from Inanam Town to Menggatal area, turn on the right junction just after Menggatal Town and turn into Kokol Poring-Poring Road. From the junction, drive all the way to Kokol Hill Village. From the junction, it takes about 30 to 40 mins which depends on your speed. May refer to map as below picture!
Along the winding uphill winding road, you can see a beautiful panaroma view of Kota Kinabalu (the city of Borneo Sabah Malaysia) and the islands beyond the city.
From the picture above, it shows how’s the weather will be. Get ready with the nice cold weather if you planned not to get sunburnt somewhere else.
In the halfway, you can see a huge church at the right side with a nice city view behind.
On the way, there are many resorts which offers rooms for rent to all guests. Some are huge and some are just small which only offer less than 10 rooms.
Kokol Haven Resort is considered as the best resort in Kokol Village but a little more pricey. Price range from 120 to 450 USD per night. Depends on the season as well!
Our Destination
Here we finally arrived at the resort that we going to stay for one night. Is Villaku Boutique Homestay which is after Kokol Haven Resort.
Villaku Boutique Homestay is a family based business opened since November 2013. It has 11 bedrooms with private bathrooms from the price range of 60 to 80 USD per night. All room comes with balcony, ceiling fan, LCD TV and hot shower.
